Thank the lord Giancarlo Stanton is back. 2 HRs tonight in only his 2nd game back from surgery. The Marlins are somewhat watchable now.

For MVP I think Trout in the AL, and McCutchen in the NL. Cano will be runner up in the AL, Holliday in the NL. For Cy...Weaver in the AL, Cain in the NL. It'd be cool to see Kimbrel or Chapman in the discussion at the end of the year. Honorable mentions: Gonzalez and Cueto in the NL, and King Felix and JV in the AL.We should get a new poll up. MVP, or Cy Young maybe.

No traditional 3-out closers should be considered for any award if you ask me. He may pitch what? A quarter to a third of the innings of what the starters wil this year? It'd be kinda cool if Johnny Cueto could finish strong and take the NL CY. Of all the teams that were around in 1956 (the year they first started giving out the CY), Cincinnati is the only one remaining to have never won.

Cueto is a starter. (Or were you responding to the Kimbrel comment?)
Wins since June 28:
I am so looking forward to these guys joining the AL West next year!

Oh, yeah. I meant to reply to the Kimbrel comment anyway. Cueto would be a fine choice, the point remains for Kimbrel though.[QUOTE="Oleg_Huzwog"]

Should they be favored to win over Starters? No. But if a closer puts up monster numbers, why shouldn't they be involved in the discussion?lol heath bell, "I thought the ugliest thing in a ballpark was a giant coke bottle and glove until we came to Miami" OMG sorry YokofoxX360PS3AMD05
I thought the worst reliever in baseball was anywhere not in Miami. Guess I was wrong, Heath.

He signed a 3-year/27 million dollar. Definitely not 38 million, unless there was an option year I wasn't aware of.
And yeah, you don't give up on him. Relievers are very erratic in terms of performance. They can be amazing for a couple years, have a stink year, and then suddenly be great again. I do think the Marlins try to move him in the offseason though.

Lol, no I'm wrong. I knew it was some huge contract though. It should be 0, but management might have too much pride to admit their mistake until the middle of next year or later. So what are the odds Bobby Valentine is still the manager for Opening Day 2013?

Bobby might be a jerk and the wrong manager for that team but the existing culture in that clubhouse is uncoachable I think. If you aren't going to please them, then the team needs to be imploded. Master_LiveI agree with this. The team seems to have no chemistry, are totally unlikable, and ya...if you don't please them, it won't work. There just seems to be a new issue every day. It seems they still haven't gotten over his comment on Youk. Wonder how this effects Ortiz and free agency...no way he wants to part of that mess again, could he?
Who will be the manager in 2014 when the Red Sox still stink? :P RIP Johnny Pesky X360PS3AMD05John Farrell, hopefully.
John Farrell, hopefully. I really hope not. I'd like him to stay here for a while, longer than 3 years. I really like him as a manager, does some great things. For the poll: RA Dickey, even though I said Cain earlier.[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]Who will be the manager in 2014 when the Red Sox still stink? :P RIP Johnny Pesky Boston_Boyy
I wondered how he got so good, so fast. :?Melky Cabrera suspended 50 games for testosterone use.
At least he admitted that he just flat out used it, but still, what a weiner.
yokofox33
Good to hear that he owned up to it, but man he was top 3 on my second place fantasy team in every offensive catagory save homers.
One of the best in the game, and only 26 years old.King Felix throws the 23rd perfect game in MLB history. What a stud.
yokofox33
Save me some money on a custom jersey since he already has my last name :PToo bad he's gonna be with the Yankees or Dodgers a couple years from now.
Boston_Boyy
Mhmm. I hope another team makes some sort of surprise push for him if he gets to FA. Maybe the Nats, Jays, or even Texas. Maybe he resigns, says he loves playing there. I assume the ridiculous price on acquiring him via trade went way up today. But they've been pretty firm on not moving him anyways.Too bad he's gonna be with the Yankees or Dodgers a couple years from now.

Yep, and it's not just lip-service when he says that. He's always had that attitude. When they signed him as a teenager out of Venezuela, he actually signed for less money just so he could pitch for the Mariners. Multiple teams had offered more money, but for whatever reason, he always wanted to go to Seattle. I don't understand why, but I certainly won't complain.
I would be very surprised if Hernandez and the M's don't try to work out a contract extension prior to the 2014 season.
Very scary stuff at the Rogers Centre tonight. A fan was having CPR performed on him and carted off on a stretcher while still receiving CPR.
EDIT: The fan has apperently passed away. RIP and my thoughts go to the family.

Coming from a Mariners fan, I think the chances of Felix resigning with Seattle are pretty high. He loves playing here, and he's the face of the franchise. The Mariners are cutting payroll, but I don't think they'll cheap out when it comes to resigning their staff ace.
Who doesn't? (Besides pitchers) And......... why can't the Braves win when the Nats lose? Bah. At least the Braves didnt lose any ground. Will be an interesting September.Giancarlos Stanton is unreal. He loves Coors Field.

Yeah, just read that. Melky messed up real bad.Melky Cabrera is the biggest scum bag in baseball.
