Ushers in Yankee Stadium were instructed to move fans to lower levels so there wouldn't be so many empty seats viewable on television.

On a Saturday.

For a playoff game.

Yankees have priced out their real fans. The few remaining fans that can afford it have finally realized this Yankees roster is a bunch of overpaid frauds.

Frauds who ended the season with the best record in the AL? What do they want, a 130-win team?

It was funny to watch Girardi try to make the blown call out to be worse than it really was.

Even Miami Heat fans are better than that. JML897

Whoa now. Heat fans show up to the games. Midway in the 2nd quarter in their baggy, white, cloth pants and shirt. And then leave at the end of the 3rd quarter...

I guess Yankees fans finally realize thats its better to watch the game at home then to sit around at a baseball stadium for 5 hrs in the cold.

Yankees have priced out their real fans.

This. And somehow the Yankees president said they were going to "fix" the "stubhub problem" this offseason. Really? How? Just lower the damn prices.

Love seeing the Yanks down 2-0, but the Tigers need to not allow them back in this series. If the Yanks get the next 2 then they can easily win the series.

http://www.fangraphs.com/not/index.php/pie-chart-where-are-all-the-yankee-fans/ What do you mean they arrived late and left early?? NO! Only Dodger fans do that! Economy, traffic, pffft No but really i see tix are $60 for ALCS Game 6, that's not that bad at all what's the deal? Even i could pay for that ^ Oh please, they've still got a double dose of "da Verlander" coming up, no chance in hell.

With Verlander and Scherzer up for the next 2 games it's going to be twice as difficult for the Yankees to come back. Factor in the fact that the next 3 games are in Detroit and it shoots up to 4 times as difficult as the first 2 games.

Damn. The cheapest I can get tickets at Comerica Park on StubHub is $94 unless I want standing room, and even then it's $84 minimum. Tickets are $100 a piece through the Tiger's website. I'd be going to a game if I could get tickets for $60. :P

I know it is looking good, but anybody can have an off game. I expect the Tigers to win, but I am leaving in a margin of error for the Yankees to pull it out. A lot can change, the Red Soxs I believe came back from a 3 - 0 hole to win a series. Not over until the last out in the close out game.

This series is over. The only question is how many more games it takes Detroit to move on to the WS. I would not be surprised one bit if Detroit finishes the sweep tomorrow even with CC pitching.

lolololol If the Yanks want to pay all of A-Rod's contract AND take Heath Bar Bell off our hands, then sure, bring the little dookie down here to Miami. He sucks, but he'd be better than anything we can throw out at 3rd base to be honest.

And lol at the notion he'd play 1st base. He'll play 3rd in Miami.

That was probably the best article I've read defending Trout's case. Never knew the road game difference was that big. Perhaps I shall go fishing for an MVP again and see if I can catch a Trout.

From ESPN Boards: "People are very harsh on Arod, just because he is old, makes a crazy amount of money, sucks as a hitter, not reliable at third base anymore, is a poor teammate, hurts the teams chemistry and is hitting on women during an important playoff game instead of paying attention to the game, does not necessarily mean he is a bad guy to have on the team".

Cause they need someone to hate, fact is the playoffs are a small sample size (That's why we have a 162 season that should matter) and he can still be a decent player, you just have to move them down in the order and maybe give um a few days off here and there. Hitting on girls looks bad, but most of the time in the dugout is unproductive, what good can you possibly do? They said even Jeter has used memorabilia to bag girls, inconsistent? A-Rod even if took 3B when he got to NY even when he was a better SS at the time IIRC. Haters man! Some bloggers are even wondering if the Dodgers will take um  With Timmie Lincecum going today it can turn out to be a really good day for the Red Birds!

Girardi logic:

  1. Rodriguez is struggling (3-23). Bench Rodriguez, start Chavez.
  2. Chavez is struggling even worse (0-14). Stick with Chavez.

I was just looking at Peralta's stats when he hit the two run bomb. Dirks was two feet away from another HR. Eppley finally ends this terrible inning for them. Wonder if I can use my vacation days and fly to Detroit for a WS game. It'll be hard to grab some tickets

I bet Leyland praying that the Yankees get a hit soon. Very tough to take a guy out while throwing a no-hitter. They won't let him throw 120+ pitches with the WS coming up.

Add to that his shoulder problems this season. Doubt he even gets to 100 pitches.

I'm sure Cashman will start the team evaluation right away, lets see. Yankees free agents:

  • Ichiro: Should be back on a 1 year deal. Hit well with the Yanks, better right fielder than Swisher.
  • Derek Lowe: 1 year if not out.
  • Mariano Rivera: Whatever he wants, if he can come back to shape that makes our bullpen that much better with Soriano going back to the 8th, Robertson the 7th.
  • Robinson Cano (club option): Will be back of course.
  • Nick Swisher: Out, his October woes are to much. Ichiro replace him.
  • Granderson (club option): Will be back, too much power and speed.
  • Kuroda: Better get the guy sign right away.
  • Russell Martin: Will be back unless we get some game changer like Joe Mauer (more on that later).
  • Freddy Garcia: 1 year if not out.
  • Phil Hughes: 1 or 2 years if not out.
  • Andruw Jones: Out.
  • Pettite: 1 year deal.
  • Raul Ibanez: Should be back as DH/Pinch hitter.
  • Eric Chavez: 1 year deal, should be back to offer some "relieve" for A-Rod at 3rd.

Other Evaluations:

  • Jeter is out 4 to 5 months, should be ready for Opening Day.
  • Alex Rodriguez: I believe his ceiling is .270/25 HR, not nearly enough for was he is making but it is what it is. I think Cashman will make some calls to see what is out there but this your fathers Yankees, they won't eat his contract just to see him play somewhere else. But if things get ugly early I expect him out by mid season.
  • Pineda should be back by spring training.

Starting pitching should look like this:

  1. CC
  2. Kuroda
  3. Pineda
  4. Pettite
  5. Nova
  6. Hughes/Garcia/Lowe

Free agents, trades to evaluate:

  1. Josh Hamilton: this shall tell you how desperate the Yankees really are.
  2. Michael Bourn
  3. Torii Hunter
  4. BJ Upton
  5. Ryan Dempster
  6. Zack Greinke
  7. Edwin Jackson
  8. Kyle Lohse
  9. Anibal Sanchez
  10. James Shield (trade): Will the Rays trade intra division? Price will be steep.
  11. Joe Mauer (trade): Depending the level of panic, Cashman might offer to take the whole contract out of the Twins hand.
