Instincts wasnt Farcry 1 sorry man. It was a terrible spin off of Farcry 1 on pc.
I have been on a role lately with my score guesses, though I thought GS may just give it a 9.0.EuroMafia
samesies. one game im having trouble tryign to figure out what itwill get is fallout 3 im stuck between 8.5-9 or they could completly love it and give it a 9.5. but i dont know!!
best post in this thread so farHey dudes. I wrote the review on this one. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask.
As for those wondering the differences between console versions, there really are none. You could dissect screens with a magnifying glass if you wanted to, but what's the point? That time would be better spent installing a new graphics card on your PC so you can play the best version ;).

Most sites gave it an 8.not suprsied
possibly NO GOTY:
FABLE2 flopped, not much of chance to get GOTY
Far cry2 didnt make it
LBP might not win,SSBB and MGS4 (gta4) take it out
Possible GOTY: MGS4,gta4
Pending:R2,gears2
Everything's flopping because everyone has ludicrious expectations of every upcoming game.

I blame GTA4. The game had a tremendous first impression, but now that the dust has settled, a lot have realised that the game wasn's all that. Certainly not a perfect 10. I think reviewers fear of getting burned again, or they think that they have to compensate to re acquire their image as tough but fair reviewer. Or maybe I'm just blowing out of my hole and all "the flops" got the score they deserved.

I don't think any reviewer regrets their GTAIV score. The game lived up to the hype and exceeded that hype. I think its gamers who were expecting something astronomically amazing. Gamers really don't understand the score system of most websites. They see a TEN and expect the world. Thats not what a ten means.

I disagree, it didnt reach its hype, and nearly every reviewer reviewing it would have been anticipating it, as any gamer did - and hyped for it (the media fanfare surrounding it too), so as a result id say opinions were skewed. If it had met its hype there would not have been nearly such a backlash.
Okay i know youre going to get a lot of graphics questions, but seriously, are the console versions only running at lower res, lower framerates, lower AA and slightly worse texturesHey dudes. I wrote the review on this one. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask.

Those are things that can be sacrificed and yet get the game still to look nearly as good as the game running on HIGH. Or would you unfortunately say that the differences go beyond that with disabled settings?
Remember, guys. An 8 is a "great" game on our scale, so an 8.5 is a really great game. There's nothing flop about it. It's just not "superb" as a 9 would be.

We don't take kind to the likes of you here in SW. Now git going! Don't let me see your face ever again!
It was a good review. Liked reading it. But the game's a flop. That's the way things roll here sadly
I think you should brush up on your SW rule book its a different world here .
But FarCry 2 is a multiplat

just kidding mods.., well done review:)
 at people claiming that it's an "ok" shooter. Despite it being a flop it's still labeled as a "great" game. Puckhog04It's ridiculous. People are acting as if it was being hyped like crazy. It had its hype, but nowhere near the level of other games.
I was expecting a score like this so it's not a flop to me.

Despite the score...I am having ALOT more fun with Far Cry 2 than I did with Crysis.Verge_6
I'd consider a point pretty significant, as it's the difference between a letter-grade, so yeah.

I'm not stating the letter-grade determines my overall enjoyment of a game, just that, score-wise, it is pretty significant.
Ditto on the favorite games bit. I think, for every gamer, their favorite, or one of their favorite, game(s) didn't score above a AA rating. That's the case with me and Fallout, Deus Ex, Call of Duty: Big Red One (not even AA), and MoH: Frontline.
