The lines they gave him in the story mode fit him to a T. Some made me chuckle a bit. If I had to pick just mains which is sorta hard since I enjoya good amount of characters and how they play it would be sub,jade,kabal,stryker,smoke and kung lao.

Im happy to see the devs gave scorp a proper finisher and gave that second one he had before to another character.

Got done playing some MK on my PS3. Absolutely LOVE the fact that they went back to their roots. :)

Haters keep hating, the game has met all my expectation, i am enjoying it very much.

Well it was, but in a way very fitting to MK. Overflowing with corny one liners and just lol worthy (sometimes cringe-worth) stuff. It reminded me a lot of the movies. It was purposefully done and I wouldn't have it any other way.

And at the same time they made it interesting enough to make you want to keep playing. I couldn't stop myself from playing and finished it up in one sitting. It really blew away my expectations. Wasn't expecting this good of a story mode effort for a fighting game at all. I really hope they do something like this for the next MK.

Yea like you saidcorny/cheesy doesint have to mean bad or anything. To be honest the only cheesy moments I can remember is cages line which fit him perfectly and the lines between lui kang and kung lao about kitina.

I very much enjoyed this game. Brought back many memories from the 90's. :)

After holding on to the disc for 4 days I decided enough is enough, clearly PSN is not going to come back online for a very long time. I started the game and downloaded the update but I noticed there was no install and on the back of the case it mentioned a 4GB one, I couldn't find an option to install the game which is annoying because it has quite a lot of loading screens.

Anyway I did some practice with Kung Lao, love his fisty-cuffs and combos and also played ladder mode on Hard with Sub Zero. Feels good fighting against different characters and I have to admit people weren't kidding about Shao Khan, the guy is a monster. I don't think his cheap though, I mean with every loss I learnt from my mistakes, after about 6 fights I finally understood. When he falls from an attack you need to be beside him and jump over as he gets up, he will perform an attack on the direction you were but by that time you would have jumped over him allowing you to string together a few combos. His attacks from wake are always slow giving you time to jump on the opposite direction and chip away at his health. Yeah not so tough now, punk!

Now it's time for story mode. BTW I didn't realise all the characters were unlocked from the get go, what's there to unlock !?

Game installs in the background, and its like a 1-2GB install I think. not sure if its really 4GB but it does install.

Quan Chi and another Sub-Zero are unlockable. Just play story.

You unlock alt outfits, fatalities, codes and art in the Krypt. In the story mode you will unlock a couple of characters.

And the story mode is a blast. At first I started playing it as a chore thinking "well I gotta do this to unlock characters and get some Krypt points", but once I sat down to play I couldn't stop. It really blew away my expectations. :)

Got it 8) the best fighter i have played in a long, long, long time. Easily excedeed all my expectations and then some.

Anyone else having trouble with the 10 wins in a row for Ranked Match? I'm on a streak of 11, won 24 and lost 5, and yet still can't get it. :(

Has anyone seen Dan Forden's Toasty yet? I saw him about 4 times in the demo, but he never came up in the full game for me.

Saw it today actually.

Man I really suck with every character in the game. Story mode made that abundantly clear, especially when you have to fight tag team opponents. First it took me like 20 goes to beat Scorpion and Quan Chi team up and then it was Subzero (Shang) and Reptile. The latter one was particularly brutal, in fact I died so many times I had to go back to the main menu and select normal difficulty. But then I immediately started Sub zero chapter and felt so at home with him (not like that) I had to change difficulty again to Hard, so easy playing with him well I did dedicate the whole friggen Demo just mastering Sub zero. It will take a bit of time for me to get used to every character but Im not going to bother, just gonna master a few and play for fun with the rest.

BTW the story mode is wicked sick. I thought it just combined th 3 tournaments instead of tackling each one in its unique way. Also really well done character models and animation. I am on Kitana chapters now but will continue the story another day instead I am going to test my might on the challenge tower soon.

Right, of course, I didn't realise devs can do it that way as well, seems unnecessary but after MGS4 Act installs it's definitely not that bad of a choice. I would have preferred if they gave an option to install all at one go instead of having these long pauses, and did anyone notice the audio being out of sync or skipping sometimes ? Happens usually when the MK symbol pops up in the bottom right which I assume is whenever the game decides to install.

Pretty yea one of the best stories in a fighter well told and presented. I just kept story mode dif on normal. I already tasted extreme from ladder and I just wanted a none frustrating time in story mode since more then once they put the odds against you.

My only problem with the story is that they made Quan Chi have the biggest impact in the MK universe. I wonder why. He always seemed like such a lame character. Always just the sidekick. percech

Because he was always important... You don't get what exactly? He's an evil sorceror from Nether Realm out to gain more power by any means necessary - using whoever he needs.

Heh, I'm with percech on this one. Quan Chi just never vibed well with me. I understand his major role in the MK universe and I don't think hes a bad character. He does fit the villain role well. I just never liked him as much as the other MK villains. Then again, I dislike most things that came after the first 3 games.

Well you can not like him all you want but fact is hes important. In this types of situation after you make a certain villian lose and look weak you usally find a replacement for that villian shang tsung messed up a few times thus quan chi took over his role basicly as a biger and stronger baddie. I mean shang could come back stronger but thats totally up to the wrighters.

Exactly. If you played Sub-Zero mythologies, you could tell how much a douche he was then. No real allegiances and will use any and everything to get what he wants.......again, the perfect qualities you want in a villian.

Just notice my game finally got deliver to my house, just have to wait for the week to end and endure a 3 hours drive from my apartment to play it. Will be using only ermac online like I did with UMK3.

Finally beat Shao Kahn. I had to spam Noob's teleport grab attack, but it was worth it! Now to try to beat Shao Kahn on hard!

Yeah, i never like him either, neither Shang Tsung, however, i always think that Shao Kahn, Goro and Motaro were cool.
