If you check benchmarks, GTX780 delivers better average and lowest fps which are the most important.

A 760 will be priced even lower and will be perfect for 1080p gaming.

New 700 series is an overkill for next gen consoles :D

I've been waiting for some time to upgrade from my 275GTX. I'll be investing in a 780 in the near future. I won't be running games at that stupid-high resolution(my monitor is 1080p), so I should be running games around 60fps constantly. It will complement my hexcore i7 nicely.

The 360 would die trying to run that game at 1920x1080.

Yeah and it costs more than the consoles. 

I really wish this card was slightly lower. That price turned me off

didnt know that games soley run off a GPU. besides could buy a wii u and either an MS or Sony console for that kinda money, and if you play games its more bang for buck and this gen your gonna miss out less on consoles consdering the x86 architecture porting will be an absolute doddle for devs.razgriz_101

I'd rather get a  GTX 660 which is $200-$260, spending over $350 let alone $649 for a GC is just too pricey.

Even though I said I'll wait for the 800-series, I'd suddenly like to replace my 670 with one of these... not good... need to fight the upgrade itch! :(

if you wait for the 800... why not wait for the 900? stupid waiting for tech, either wait so it drops with new hardware and you can get old hardware at killer prices or wait until the new thing comes out and buy it.savagetwinkie

I don't think it will be lower enough :| I wanna upgrade my PC for Next generation but 600 or even just 300 for a graphics card is too much. Or Just wait for the AMD's Equivalent which will most likely be lower in price even if it's not as good it'll do the job well.

It has a double performance though and will last at least twice as long. If you go for 660 now you will have to upgrade in an year and half, you will have to buy another 250$ card. 2*250 = 500$. Not that cheep in comparison to 780. Besides it will fall in price by christmass.
