They made a few optimization to the GK110 chip Titan is based on and slightly increased core clock to 900Mhz. I don´t like anandtech benchmark because it doesn´t show the lowest fps.

But if you check Tomshardware review. for example, it´s notciable that the red line dominates the black line.

What the hell is up with that HD 7990, looks like AMD have some driver work to with their premier card.

AMD has always had problems with its dual GPU cards.

Because of higher resolutions. Eventually pc master race will be playing games on full 4k resolution screens at 60fps.

Yeah with like 4X $1000 graphic-cards in SLI yeah

And then you can watch the black line beat the red line in crysis 3, bf3, bioshock infinite, tomb raider

lostrib

Yes. But Frame Time Variance is always better on GTX780, which means higher values for the lowest fps. And the lowest fps is very important because it musn´t fall under 30 fps, otherwise the gamer will notice it.

Well that's not even true. and stop changing the goal posts, first it was min and avg fps, now it's frame time variance

You may clearly see how Fame Time Variance in translated into the Lowest FPS in the Crysis 3 benchmark.

crysis-variance.png

crysis-over-time.png

You may clearly see, how the black line touches 25 fps while the red line never goes down so low.

Besides you must take into account that Anodyn and Tom´s Hardware bechmarks are for 1440p resolutions, not 1600p as in the case of Gamespot´s.

Right, does not change that what you said was not true.  I don't know why you are on such a quest to show that 780 is better than titan.   The important part is that it is similar in performance but for significantly less

I wonder what CPU they used, some of the results seem like they hit a CPU bottleneck.

Anyway, at 1080P this card easily runs anything out there in 60 fps + maximum settings

Nah. I will be pretty ok with 64-player online of BF4.

lol what that has to do with anything? more satisfiying to win a 1v1 than a 32v32. KZ2 is not an instant death noob game.

Maybe not that game, but KZ3 is...

They had pretty good results for 1600p. The rest of reviewers reviewed it mostly for 1440p therefor they have higher results.

It´s called optimization. I checked several sources and there are certain games in which GTX780 outperforms Titan. Why are you so angry. Have you bought Titan recently ?

jhonMalcovich

What optimization, it's the same card... And not mad, but I won't stand to ignorance being spread like it was the truth...

Go read a bit...

http://www.anandtech.com/show/6973/nvidia-geforce-gtx-780-review

They made a few optimization to the GK110 chip Titan is based on and slightly  increased core clock to 900Mhz. I don´t like anandtech benchmark because it doesn´t show the lowest fps.

But if you check Tomshardware review. for example,  it´s notciable that the red line dominates the black line.

farcry-over-time.png

Or this one

bioshock-variance_correct.png

The red doesn't dominate... It's pretty much the same.

What are you talking about, it's mostly due to clocks being a bit higher.

I'm sick of chasing hardware power on PC. My 7950 plays every current gen game perfectly fine. And I doubt the gtx 780 is going to give us a solid 60fps on next gen games, so I don't see the point. On PC, go big or go home! If you aren't getting a stable 60fps then you might as well be playing on console as far as i am concerned.

Yes. But Frame Time Variance is always better on GTX780, which means higher values for the lowest fps. And the lowest fps is very important because it musn´t fall under 30 fps, otherwise the gamer will notice it.

Also this is what toms says:

We keep the lab at a constant temperature and run these cards through the same benchmarks in the same order, but its impossible to recreate the same conditions between tests.

Something to think about.

GTX Titan: 25 fps

27>25

Yes and 780 is often under 30fps...

Also this is what toms says:

We keep the lab at a constant temperature and run these cards through the same benchmarks in the same order, but its impossible to recreate the same conditions between tests.

Something to think about.

Touche. :D

Still doesn´t contradict my thread title, because GTX780 sometimes does outperform GTX Titan. I just omitted the word sometimes. Sue me :P

Besides GTX780 >>>>>>>>>>>> Titan due to the price tag.

I'll agree to price/performance 780 does win, but Titan is still king im my books for single GPU. But at the price they're now, neither are very good price/performace.

I would if I had a 1600p monitor. I do want to buy a 670 or 760 soon though.

How are consoles dead, when they are the only ones with worthy exclusive games ?

PC is so irrelevant that i never had to upgrade my PCs for graphics for 12+ years now

I only came close with Witcher 2 but was confirmed for xbox 360 before i do that stupid move

Not a single worthy exclusive means getting those cards is useless, it is like buying a ferrari to use in a valcanic island without roads

that makes your thread title false, especially when titan is faster in general, if only by a little

 . freedomfreak

those were before the nvidia driver update during the first week of tomb raider's release.  FPS is now fine just like any other game on pc.  Even lower tier cards can max it out.

I mostly play RPGs and adventures and so these games mean nothing to me

I would trade all recent startegy games for an hour of Demon Souls personally

Dark Souls 2 is developed on PC though  Witcher 3 as well.

How about Wasteland 2, Shaddow Runner, Project Ethernity, Divinity: Original Sin ? All of them are RPGs.

The Longest Journey, adventure ?

I've been playing next gen for years now on my PC. I'll let you in on what it's about, the graphics are better and more people online. I'll give you time to marvel over that,
