Was pretty much going to buy the pro day 1. But no 4k Blu-ray player? That's absolutely blows my mind on what a idiotic decision this is. So the Pro is a no go.

PS4 Pro is a solid product for a great price. Butthurt peeps out there should either stick with their OG PS4 or get a PS4 Slim for $299. No one is forcing you guys to buy a PS4 Pro. The PS4 Pro is for people that want an enhanced PS4 experience.

They fucked up. I love sony, but I have no idea what they were thinking and I know why they didn't announce this shit at E3.

The worst thing about this presentation was that I was able to see through their Bs. Normal people shouldn't be able to do that which is a very bad sign.

I am OK with it as long as they provide 1080p 60 fps on ultra settings, not only 4k at 10 fps or any upscalling BS

Why not? Cows make bash threads about Amazon sales rankings. Why on earth would you let your major opponent's slim have 4K streaming, HDR AND a UHD blu ray player but not put it in your "pro" version?

Now, I don't believe this will stop gamers from buying this 4.2 TFLOP upgrade, but if it was MS that had done left out 4k blu ray AFTER PS put it in you guys would be all over them for it. Come on dude, don't lie. It's a pretty dick move by Sony.

I don't seem to be the market for this machine. I have absolutely 0 interest in picking up a Pro; like, not even considering the purchase.

Had half the conference in the background and seemed rather dull. Footage looked nice. Price point is good, especially for the Slim.

I browsed around a bunch of websites, from Facebook, Instagram, Neogaf to IGN, PlayStation websites, Engadget, Kotaku, almost every website you go to, people are really let down by Sony and their announcements and lack of info today in the comment sections. Sony dun goofed.

Microsoft done ****'d up once again. Sony has bluffed Microsoft in to going too big with hardware for VR, and UHD Blu Rays. Both aren't going to become mainstream or sell well. Sony knows their own version of VR is cheap and gimmicky, but they're not investing too much assets in to it to become a major problem when it implodes on itself.

Making the Pro cheaper and enhancing 1080p tvs while boosting performance was the way to go.

Presumably because of cross play between players on PS4 and Pro they can't give anyone an advantage.

Don't worry guys, there's still a chance for a PS4 Pro Slim that includes all the missing things that should have been there.

It would be stupid to give PS Pro players an advantage in multiplayer due to higher framerates. They need to keep everything on a level playing field online.

Yeah, that would be the same on the XB1S-Scorpio too. If they want the same games to be played on both machines (this case, PS4 and PS4 Pro) without full ports, then MP stuff needs to remain unchanged. Otherwised it's a massive mess.

No I wouldn't. A majority of gamers out there don't even have 4K or give a shit about 4K. Jacking up the price to add a feature that only a small fraction of your audience will use is pointless. I'm okay with that move if its responsible for the PS4 Pro's attractive price point. If MS does the same thing with the Scorpio I'll praise them for it. History has shown us that $500 end up dead in the water, these companies have to take certain measures to keep that price point at $400, and this is one of those measures.

If there have been no specs revealed for the PS4 Pro, then it would be unwise to automatically assume that it is less powerful than Scorpio as many in this thread are doing.

That said, I won't be upgrading any time soon. If my PS4 bricks, I'll upgrade. If it doesn't, then I'll wait for the next Playstation itteration after Pro.

I am surprised no one is confused. When MS announced two systems that were 14 months apart there was this outcry of confusion but I don't see the confusion when Sony announce the release of two new systems that launches around the same time.

Don't forget Sony is also releasing yet another $400 hardware in between, the PSVR, and they still haven't really told if there are benefits of using it on one over the other.

@cainetao11: What I meant was Sony VR is only $400 and the others are much more expensive. By the looks and previews of their VR games, it's obvious they've not invested much in it (unlike the others). Probably because they know it's just a dumb gimmick.

Hmmm...what? They actually have. PSVR games will play better on the Pro. Either better graphics ( better textures, models, etc) and/or better framerate. Will vary from dev to dev and from game to game.

That Jaguar CPU is disappointing! Besides at least a $399 Xbox One S still gives you a 4k Blu-ray player, 2 TB HDD, the best online experience over the pos4's online service, and the best available features with HDR and DX12

Well everything in real time graphics is smoke and mirrors, so I am not sure how that is bad. At the end of the day gamers with 4k TVs will get a 4K experience with the PS4 Pro.
