The "official discussion threads" are getting kinda short, lately.
On topic, the game needs:
1) less Shiva.
2) a better inventory system.
3) yes, it needs shoot-&-run.
4) a bigger gun. It looks like a water gun.
5) more black enemies (it is Africa, right?)
6) a chainsaw enemy that kills you on contact
7) the walking/running/turning around/aiming mechanics need improvements

Having it in real-time annoyed me in Dead Space and it's annoying in RE5. Why, hate the tension it creates ;) on the fly inventory is what its all about, much more realistic.

this post is very good...The controls are meh.
I don't buy this "Oh but it's to keep the tension" BS. Capcom has already change the RE franchise so much into an action game, just give us controls that aren't awkward and clunky.
You can't run while moving the camera, you can't reload while moving, you can't aim while moving, you can't run and turn a corner without stopping.
Honestly this is kinda stupid.
I hope the game doesn't force coop on us. Games like this are better for single player, but it would be nice to have coop as a feature. The demo was way too easy with coop. I don't like the inventory system either. The game seems exactly like Resident Evil 4, gameplay-wise, but I didn't care for the 360 controller for this game.SOedipusWhen did RE4 have a buddy system, like RE5? When did RE4 have animations like RE5's? (that react according to the enviroment) When did RE4 have a variety of melee attacks and combo melee attacks? When did RE4 have a co-op system like RE5's? the core gameplay of moving and shooting is the same, but god the RE4 in HD has to die...its a squeal and it does more than enough to make it a proper one. RE4 was 1 game that used that system, why would the next be different, considering RE123 code verionica were pretty much the same gameplay wise?

never played RE4 have you? We don't need the Hardcore RE fans screaming even louder on here on how Capcom sold them out. RE5 while is more ACTION it still about the tension and survival aspect...adding moving and shooting with such enemies makes it TOO easy, considering RE5 isn't a war shooter. YOU don't have enemies with guns do you? The stop and shoot gameplay is much more realistic, too....when do professionals run around and shoot? Look at swat/cops..these guys are pro's (swat team) that need to make shots count and you don't do that by moving and shooting, do you? Don't come to RE5 expecting gears of war...totally different games. The controls are meh.

The real-time inventory in Dead Space was nice but the one in RE5 is lame and ugly. The whole menu interface is rather ugly.
Also the screens in coop. Why are you wasting so much of my HDTV with empty black space?

Yeah, it is tense and realistic. But when you need to switch weapons and you're surrounded by enemies it's still annoying :P

Oh, and as for buddy system, Resident Evil 4 had Ashley, though she didn't do anything and was a nuisance unless she had armor on. I didn't say anything about Resident Evil 5 looking like Resident Evil 4.
360 version looked better in all those comparisons, better textures, sharper character models, better shadows, better framerate better effects on screen etc.McdonaIdsGuylol, you wish...everyone who has played BOTH version (including me) have said its identical VISUALLY. (concerning detail/environmental textures, etc) Only difference is NON graphics related, Framerate, explosions etc...from what i've heard the PS3 version is an older build. but the final version will have had that ironed out.

RE4 controls were better than what we played on the demo. RE4 gameplay was not designed for two sticks. It feels forced, now.

change the controls to RE4's...then? the PS3 version allows no strafing and plays just like RE4 on the PS2..except square is to shoot and X is to run, etc.change the controls to RE4's...then? the PS3 version allows no strafing and plays just like RE4 on the PS2..except square is to shoot and X is to run, etc. Eyezonmii
If you can do that then it is awesome. I thought there was only the standard configuration. Gotta check that demo again.

No way, it clearly says before you start the game, its labelled the RE4 controls scheme....;) You can even play it like 4 while having the ability to strafe.360 version looked better in all those comparisons, better textures, sharper character models, better shadows, better framerate better effects on screen etc.McdonaIdsGuyI highly doubt any of us is such an expert in graphics to say that that sure.

RE5 demo was disappointing.I hope the full game will deliver.Lto_thaGI liked it, especially co-op with a friend. It isn't the game I once loved on PS1 and Gamecube(remakes)but its still awesome and fun.

I didn't and playing co-op with a buddy was not that special.Half of my screen existed out of a black bar and the framerate dropped quite a few times.
