How are RE 5's graphics disappointing?
The game clearly has the best character models on consoles, textures are okay, draw distance, effects, explosions are INSANE. Did you play it on a standard TV or something?
.
that's the thing the only really impressing aspect of the graphics are the main character models , overall it barley looks better then mgs4 and both uncharted and gears 2 look better I guess I just expected better.Tekkenlovingyour comparing an old build DEMO to FINISHED TITLES! smart.
summary, RE 5 is dull, boring and uninspiring. babysitting sucks. run, aim, shoot, melee mechanics sucks graphics not that impressive AI enemies are dumb as hell. inventory menu stinks. basically, nothing new about the game.MightyMuna
a) New and improvement animations (thats react according to the enviroments)
b)New UNIQUE buddy system not seen in any other game (both need to apply to do actions and voice command buddy system done with the a button)
c) New shooter controls
d) New weapons/levels/characters
e) New inventory menu (realistic and is done on the fly to create tension)
f) Insane looking character models and detail (for a demo)
g)Improved destructible environments
h)Added variety of Melee's and Unique Melee combo's (done together with a partner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSdTrsPeSm0)
i) Way more enemies on screen
j) On the fly weapon changes done through the D-pad (customisable)
add the new story, boss's, enemies...and RE5 is a true sequel, just because you expected a war shooter ALA gears from RE5 shows you that this isn't your type of game. Good day sir.

to Eyezonmii, please learn to accept people's opinions, just because you like the game, does not mean everyone should follow suit. there is no point trying to convince someone to change their mind. you like the game, good, buy it and have fun. some people dont like it, so please stop 'attacking' people who dont share your taste.MightyMunaDon't waste your time dude..
Oh my god I love it! This game is gonna own the haters so bad. I can't wait. :DAljosa23I feel the same. There are things that I find unfavorable such as slow to non-existent evasion maneuvers. But overall I'm looking forward to it :).
cant believe the comments but i guess its expected from shooter fans. RE5 is a true horror survival game imho, and its great in almost every sense, i enjoyed the demo a lot =)lancedgtI think it's more survival-action than horror. Not bad, but there's not much scary about it. Well, from the demo at least.
"Eyezonmii"
Now come on! You really can't accept the fact that some of us just don't like the game. I for one totally agree with MightyMuna. The AI is really bad! After 30 sec. i was like WTF is wrong with them. I understand that alot of people will go nuts for this game, but not me. Is that alright with you? Even if the game gets a 10 rating in the reviews i tried the demo and i didn't really like it.
I think when their are that many enemies coming at you simultaneously, you can let some things slide. I'm sure the game will be challenging enough, just like RE4."Eyezonmii"

Capcom is fav dev. they made my fav series, Street Fighter and DMC. You hate RE5 with a passion, i've followed your RE5 hate remarks for a bit....don't get how someone can hate a game so much.
[QUOTE="blitzcloud"]Eyez, is Hardgame86 your PSN? I added that to my friend list. I hope you accept me :cEyezonmiiNope, it's HardTarget86. Well, that XD I added you.
I'm really hoping for a mercenaries coop online mode that unlocks characters like Leon, Claire, Wesker, etc
It could be sooooooo epic.

That would be so epic, Eyez is pretty good at RE5 I was playing shanty town with him last night Right back-acha. Mercenaries online mode, I would want something like Gear's 2 HORDE MODE, mercenaries against a wave of the infected villages.but have set goals you have to achieve while needing to survive to complete it. (ex, get to a certain location in time, ala RE3) Now that would add great replay value to the game. Hopefully Capcom have done something special with it.[QUOTE="Animal-Mother"][QUOTE="blitzcloud"]Well, that XD I added you. That would be so epic, Eyez is pretty good at RE5 I was playing shanty town with him last night Right back-acha. Im suprised they havn't talked about special features and different modes of the game. Jun ???? The producer talks about how you need to beat the game in order to unlock the bonus modes and features

Guess they're keeping the best till last. We shall see.

FIRST REAL RE5 REVIEW!!!!!
Just as we expected, the german GamePro indeed is the first magazine on earth to completely review Resident Evil 5. Unlike the previous reviews from magazines like OPM US, GamePro was able to play through the whole game and therefore is world-exclusively reviewing Resident Evil 5. The playthrough happened at the secret event in HamburgI mentioned in a previous news post.
Here are a few details (minor spoilers included):
- GamePro could only make their own screenshots of the first three chapters. The later ones, they had to use Capcom's images due to an embargo
- It is all about the Progenitor virus
- Resident Evil 5 changes locations more often than Resident Evil 4 and the pace moves on immensly, especially after the first 10 minutes.
- The game is about 18 hours long.
- There's no location that is as big as the castle area in Resident Evil 4.
- The game is divided in 6 big chapters, each of them again divided into 3-4 areas.
- After the refinery, the game goes more for darkness (pyramids)
- GamePro counted1 (!!!) real puzzle in Resident Evil 5.
- The emphasis is clearly on Co-Op. When a character is investigating something alone it usually deals with finding a key or moving something. GamePro says that these are the most intriguing situations as you wish your partner would be with you and help you fight the hordes of enemies.
- A few old enemies are indeed in Resident Evil 5 (like the Licker)
- GamePro found the fights with Wesker very cool. They are absolutely dramatic and stunning.
- The visuals and audio are top notch.
- The PS3 version suffers a few glitches here and there, but they are not heavy.
- Resident Evil is gone, long live Resident Evil.
- They describe the game as an extremely entertaining, quick Tour de France with less horror.
- The overall review score is 93% for both PS3 and Xbox360 versions. Added to the PS3 graphics score was a note that the PS3 version suffers minor issues. GamePro's usual, separate multiplayer score for the game is 10/10.
- After completion of the game graphic filters, unlimited ammo, alternate costumes and an "arcade mode" among other things become available.
- The review doesnt contain many new or interesting screenshots, but here are the article pages. My scanner stopped to work therefore i had to use my digi-cam.

[QUOTE="ANeuralPathway"][QUOTE="mitu123"]After trying the demo, I'm not sure if I'll buy this, maybe rent it. No, it wasn't bad, but I didn't find it to be that great. I'm sure it's going to be a 9.5 here because the full game will probably be awesome of course, then again, I was never a huge fan of Resident Evil.Eyezonmii
If this game gets 9.5 I'm going to have to consider it a sign of the apocalypse(going by the demo anyway). Also, when are developers going to get sick of the slick skin look, it looks like ****.
wtf you on about, skin look? how everyone looks like they just ran a marathon, or were just birthed. like they're covered in a thin coat of slime. like Uncharted.FIRST REAL RE5 REVIEW!!!!!

Now if the German gaming media were at least decent :PDo some people find the controls really that difficult? I played most of the previous RE games, but not 4, and I quickly got used to the controls. So what is you can't walk when you shoot? If you did it would give you such an unfair advantage over the zombies.
what a silly argument. that's exactly the point bethwo. Capcom should fix the game so the advantage / disadvantage is based on the actual game & gameplay, not by gimping / impeding movement with convoluted controls. if changing this would give an unfair advantage over the zombies then fix the zombies too & make the game more interesting. it makes no sense whatsoever that my buff / alert protagonist has difficulty moving his feet while he reloads or shoots. it makes no sense that he struggles remembering where he / she holstered their gun pressing 3 buttons just to bring it out. in short i think it's silly to be an apologist for lazy design.Do some people find the controls really that difficult? You have 9 spaces for items, 4 of which are accessible by pressing o ne of the 4 d-pad directions. Do you really need more than 2 weapons, one support (grenade for example) and a healing herb in a single touch of a d-pad button? You're doing it wroooong. Please Log In to post.
