Thanks for the links.

I wouldnt try repairing it myself as its just as easy to call Sony and pay to have it repaired (its already been repaired by them once for free) but i'm using it at the moment to stream movies from my media room to my living room so its more a case of "cba to send it in yet" :P

LBP on the HDD is something i'd get even if the BR drive was still working so i may aswell take advantage of the deal.

It's certainly pretty good. I signed up just now and I almost "technically" made my money back already. Free 3 months (18 dollar value), Wipeout HD (20), and Rally Cross (6). That's already 44 bucks.

They're not forcing you to buy it just to play online, unlike MS. If you don't want it, don't buy it. It's not a necessity, though, I for one think it's well worth it.

The part of your post I bolded is why a lot people are trying to throw a negative spin on this. You're not forced into purchasing anything if you want to play online, this is just an extra service offered for a price...which just happens to be the same price that you're forced to pay for Live if you want online multiplayer. Sony just offered its gamers better value with this step, and it's something MS willneed to respond to.

To those of you that think automatic updates are like Live's download manager,they aren't. The downloads, no matter how short or quick they are, need some kind of prompt to kick start.

im not getting psn+, but auto updates allows you to set a time on your ps3, and the ps3 will turn on by itself and start updating for you, and will turn off when done.

How exactly is PSN+ better than Live? They didn't improve anything... they just offered some free games and discounts. It would have been better if you could pick which games to get because the ones right now, I really dont give a crap about. Plus are ppl forgetting that Live offers discounts ASWELL...every week new deals come out. Last week Shadw complex, Splosion man etc were all 50% off. Cows should really stop hyping this service because its nothing special as of yet.

Too bad i dont want wipeout HD and own LBP already. I used to own destruction derby on PS1 and wouldnt want to play it anymore. I wouldnt mind the LBP dynamic theme or the KZ2 maps but eh its still not worth it for me this month. I am just going to wait until they add content i want. Its still a good deal for 1 month if you want whats available though. Assuming you dont live in canada... lol

XBL also offers discounts in "Deals of the Week" tab. XBL silver also updates automatically for free. And those rentals suck if they don't let you actually PICK which game you want.

Quit adding themes to the list geez lol. 360 themes are blocked by the dashboard content. Also there is literally 1000's of themes for the ps3 online that you can download. Also is there anything remotely like dynamic themes for the 360? Also that list was mainly dlc for games that are at least 3 years old or not even worth mentioing to put dlc with, Some of which I can't even bleive that the dev made dlc for lol. Also they prolly were free when they first were released. You know we have gotten free dlc for games on psn aswell right? Maybe give us another year and we can put together a list of free dlc lol. All the while we still get online play for free.

P.S. Has anyone still thought of what they are going to do next gen? I mean if a 360 owner you will lose your arcade games and dlc if you go with a playstation and your 360 happens to break down. So quit saying we lose our games if we don't subscribe to psn+, as if you get to keep yours if you don't have a 360 lol. DD is not the future, its just handy.
