Well you can just play just like on consoles. However even if you want the best graphics just turn on Nividia Optimizer and it will set the settings for you. This just shows your ignorance of PC gaming. I use to be solely a console gamer until last year. I did this in response to the Pro announcement. I have never done it before and did my research for quite some time. I built my very own exactly the way I wanted to. I have barely touched my PS4 since this. Just to play the new Uncharted. I will always have a PS4 but it is sad because with the amount of motion blur and how it didn't stand up to PC at ultra, it was a tough experience. I was already spoiled and never realized it until I jumped over.

Yet another reason not to play on pc. One could easily assume that the pc space is populated with the same kind of people we see in this thread. Who'd want to play with people like that?

People like shewjenga, kuu, heil, or pinkanimal may be cows or lems, but at the end of the day, they would most likely be a hoot to play online with.

1. I can build a PC that is about $100-200 more than the Xbox One X and it is better.

2. I rarely buy games from Steam. I get them release day one for around $40 saving about $20 on day of release games than consoles. Not to mention if I chose to buy games at a later date. The prices drop way faster on PC.

3.You are correct. My GPU cost more than and Xbox One X. However, I can beat the Xbox One X performance in games from point one for slightly more and it will have a way better CPU and a better GPU.

4. I do not understand how it is complicated. You didn't explain this. I download my games and play. Nvidia does all the optimizing for me.

5. No one is claiming 8k. However my PC, regardless of price, can outperform most and will crush a PS4 and Xbox One X.

6. I can bring a great analogy to cars to crush your dreams. Building a higher end PC is like buying a Ferrari and then someone coming along and saying I build a fox body mustang for 10k and it can come close to your Ferrari. Well Maybe the person who bought the Ferrari wants the full experience of having something nice since it can do more than just run down a drag strip (i.e. just play games on xbox one x and much for on a PC).

7. Okay??? The PS4 Pro is $400. The Xbox One X offers slight better performance and I can get you better performance building a PC with an extra $100-$200.

8. The only part that would cost more than a console is a GPU. If you buy close to the latest and greatest, you can have that for years because it will already outperform any console. You upgrade when consoles do and you are always ahead of the game and have better graphics as well.

My points...with free online play ($60.yr), way cheaper games (look at kinguin.net, I have saved hundreds this year alone), this pays for itself in no time. I also use my PC for way other things than just gaming.

When you build a PC for 4K and you playing 4K on it , its TRUE 4K at all times. Not 4K wannabe. Also frames can be better and graphical fidelity as well aside resolution.

Those aren't even major components that affect performance. There's no point trying to build to match X1X performance, when we don't have the final performance number

Though I would say "I don't like it" is just as much a crude argument when relying on the statement itself, without clarifying why it isn't (or conversely is) liked. Because as I said before, "I don't like it" isn't a reason, it's a summary. The reasons are what explains why one came to that summary.

Except a PC is far more than a closed system with a childproof operating system that only plays games and is sold at a massive loss.

The quality and content is superior from the start.

You end up paying more for everything on consoles after the initial hardware.

@toonarmy20: That argument doesnt really work for you though. Xbox One X does not have Windows 10 nor a mouse and keyboard. The only thing it has going for it is the UHD Blu-Ray player but people mostly stream movies now. You’re adding values to things we wouldn’t even want aside from the controller.

Except "I don't like it" isn't a reason, it's just a summation. Reasons are the underlying why someone comes to that conclusion, be that to like or not like something.

It's not like for like because I can't do everything I do on the Xbox One X that I can on the PC. Not to mention there is no available desktop CPU slower than the X1X. I mean you're asking for a UHD player which is irrelevant to gaming. I'm gonna ask the slew of things Windows 10 can do that the X1X can't, which is also irrelevant to gaming.

im a old system war vet. havent been here in years, was around during the gamecube, ps2, xbox era but was highly active during the xbox, ps3, wii times. during that time i purchased a computer, i didnt know had a graphics card in it, till i tried a game. boy did that change everything. from there on i exclusively game on pc and found it hard to go back. nothing consoles can offer you once you are fully into the PC scene. the ones who complain about pc gaming are just jealous because they cant experience it.

Whole swathes of games/genres are dismissed due to preference despite their impact/acclaim, and then this same stance is used to argue that a platform is superior here. I'm not going to point fingers, but we all know which posters do this the most.

X1X's 4K result is like any other PC's 4K borderline GPUs which range from RX-580 to GTX 1070.

You're a meme at this point. That computer will also destroy the X1X at 1080p because it won't be bottlenecked by a shit-tier CPU.

Due to X1X's optimization, FM7 was also optimized for VEGA 56/64 with 1440p mode beating GTX 1080 TI. 4K mode VEGA 64 Air close to GTX 1080Ti.

X1X's VEGA related optimizations wasn't applied on RX-580 and older AMD GPUs e.g. R9-390, R9-Fury X. The result is different from Doom Vulkan results with older AMD GPUs vs NV Pascals.
