at percentages that high it would have involved a major recall, the 360 failure rate was high with the xenon model, theres no denying that, but MS have never released official figures and most of the articles about it rely on surveys which is not a reliable way of ascertaining anything, you can all pull figures out of your backsides all day long, none of them can be definitively proven, lets juts put the original xbox 360 down as one of the most unreliable games machines in history, Along side my favorite console of all time, the Ps1, bloody good console but i had more of them fail on me in 5 years than i have had 360's fail on me in 6 years, you know theres something wierd going on when running your console upside down is the only way to go, worse than that was the zx spectrum, unhregulated power supply FTW or the C64, i bought enough tape decks, Amiga a600. don't even get me started. MS lie openly about RROD and basically had no choice but to extend the warranty to 3 years,which was the second time,since the first warranty was 90 days,and was change to 1 year and then to 3,so yeah MS handle RROD terribly and openly lie about fail rates.

By the way the only problem the PS1 hd was over heat,and just caused FMV to skip,nothing even close to RROD no even close so claiming that you change more PS1 than 360 is a joke,since you claim a few month ago to have owned several 360,maybe your memory is failling you..

Your link does nothing but confirm that the failure rate was in the 30s. Try reading it again. Sure the launch model failures were probably higher, but the later models were probably lower. We don't know. We do know that the Falcons were much more reliable than the Xenons. So it is concievable to believe that 30%-35% of the phat 360s were prone to failure.

Even with that, you can't just remove those numbers from the overall sales like you want to do. You have no idea how many people actually re-bought the console, how many people had the console fixed for free, how many people fixed it themselves, and how many people never bought another Xbox 360.

Which brings me to my last point. I never said that the YLoD was as bad as the RRoD. Nobody would claim that. What I said is that if you are going to start speculating tha amount of 360s bought as replacements for a RRoD failure without any actual numbers. Then it is fair for someone to start speculating the number of PS3s that were bought as replacements for PS3s that failed out of warranty for YLoD, DRE, Blu-ray diode failures, etc.

Nope, just going on reports from SONY themselves (i.e official reports) and making a judgement based off that. The PS2 sold more than 2.6 million confirmed so LOL at trying to ignore that.

Anyway, I couldn't care less if the PS3 over takes the 360 now. Its already a new gen (fact), and when the new gen started the Wii was first (fact) and the 360 second (fact). If you want to have your victory of finally overtaking the 360 6 years late, go ahead
