And those pics, bar the forest, are from a level they had to show the co-op, that level as Peter said was totally NOT finished, the forest pic is from a finilised in prettyfication area, that is why it looks so much better

You do not expect the pics from a co-op demo, to look their best, right ? They were never meant to show how graphics are, and the level was not finished at all

Look at how Fable 1 looks, there is small detail everywhhere, i expect even that forest pic, to get even better in those 9 more months, as they confirmed will

Exactly, the core level is really artistic, also I love the next level I think, when the jungle is frozen, but when you go forward it's normal, I love the contrast in that scenery.

All posts about crysis's visuals not looking impressive artistically are from people who have just not witnessed the game itself.

btw: I love Audiosurf! It's great at killing some time and relaxing from a long day at work :)

I prefer Fable's graphics but from a technical level, its a no-brainer.

also... where is saolin getting 9 months from? Lionhead hasn't announced anything on the release date other than in 2008 sometime... and 9 months from now would make it late November... I bet it will be out before late November...

What are you talking about ? So, you do NOT see the light beams in Crysis and Fable 2 ? That is hardly my concern you know, watch closer mybe ?

The final layer of stuff like flowers, foliage, small detail etc go at the last months of devleopment, that has been confirmed, because that way they have 100% control of how the frame rate in the final game will be, so you are wrong, the game WILL look vastly better, AND the devleopers have confirmed it time and time again, that they will add stuff until the last minute in graphics, check the Fable 2 forums, and the link to the blog in my signature

Have you seen the character models in crysis. This is like PS2 compared to crysis. Oh and nice draw distance it like a couple hundred feet where as crysis is miles of draw distance with real time day to night cycle and real time oceans with interactive animals.

To say 3 year old hardware (360) can produce a game that is on par with Crysis, a game that only High end cutting edge computers can play at Very High settings is just plain stupid. The texture quality in Fable 2 is not as good, you can tell everything is made up of less polygons, there isn't a huge draw distance because it's masked by fog, and overall I see nothig special about it aside from pretty good lighting. Not even the devs are trying to brag about the graphics in this game.karasill

I did not say the trees and grass are more amazing, just as good as Crysis, and less blurry, leaves are far better too TBH

As for detailes, check the grass that is as much as in Crysis, flowers, rocks, super detailed trees etc etc

it is "blurry" because of MOTION BLUR which makes the game look BETTER. And those leaves are not even close to Crysis. Oh... so they stuck a round texture onto a tree and made it green.. In Crysis, the leaves have freaking veins on them. THAT is how detailed they are. That grass isn't even close either. Crytek didn't use much grass in the actual game but when they did it killed the stuff in Fable 2(see the Onslaught level....)

What saolin said is kind of sad. If the console version can only do medium/high with a scaled down version of the cryengine2. Thats sad.

Trees are far better IMO

Far Cry 2 is comin to 360, the question is how dilluted you are, that think 360 can't do Crysis like graphics, but in less scale

In fact CryEngine 2 runs above medium settings on 360, as CONFIRMED by the developers

How convenient of you to leave out the rest of the details. It was a graphics test only, it didn't take into account the lack of RAM and processor power.

Just because the engine can run at above medium settings on the 360 does not mean it could run Crysis above medium settings. Also, do you have a link confirming that's what the devs said? When you were a little kid did you sit to close to the tv or stare at the microwave by any chance?

as i recall i believe the devs said they had the game(farcry2) running @ high settings 720P @ 20-25 fpsNext2003

actually, their quote was that the console version runs at that while the PC version gets 30+ FPS on the same setting at 1920x1200 resolution. Nearly double the total pixels(720p is 1280x720).
