Darro's Delights Episode VII

Part I
[video=JCc6lTD_5bkLszPa]

Part II
[video=dnU1xTOt5bkLszPZ]

Well, what do we have here? Two videos!!? Yes, Darro's Delights episode VII is in 2 parts. Some of you might like and some of you may not but hopefully you enjoy it all the same.

Well, this week's game is my 3rd favourite game of all time, favourite RPG and the game that got me into RPGs in the first place. Yes, it is Squaresoft's (now Square-Enix) masterpiece, Final Fantasy VII. 3 glorious discs filled with a great story, excellent soundtrack, beautiful world and memorable characters.

So what is in these 2 parts, eh? Well, the first part covers the usual format you seen in the last six weeks while the 2nd part consists of me answering questions associated with the game and series.

Also, apologies if my voice on the gameplay section is  bit loud and cackly, its the best I could do because if any lower, it would be GTK all over again.

Anyway, hope you enjoy both of them and see you next time. Until then, keep on gaming and ROCK ON!!

Darro's the name and blogging's the game!

Hello, fellow Gamespotters.  Darro here with my video blog that is back from a one week hiatus.  Certain things are different like a new title and a new intro (just revamped from the previous one but still new).

So what do I talk about in this week's blog, then?  Well I talk about my impressions of the Gamebridge along with its problems, games played (which wasn't much) and GDC (not much though).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy and leave comment and questions for next time, thanks.  So until next time, keep on gaming and ROCK ON!!

Smooth Moves Video!

Hey this is just a short video of me playing WarioWare: Smooth Moves for the Nintendo Wii.  Using the Gamebridge of course so enjoy!

Darro's Delights Episode 6

[video=J3FnlDWv5bkLuzPa]

First of all, you may be wondering, why is Darro's Delights up when it is not Thursday.  Well since I got my gamebridge yesteday I decided to do DD earllier and if it wasn't for the upload problem this video would have been up yesterday.

But anyway, here is episode 6 for you guys to enjoy.  It features one of the best wrestling games ever made and is better than some of the current wrestling games in the market, WWF No Mercy for the N64.  Also, the gameplay footage is greatly improved since I am now using Gamebridge but won't be able to use it with 360 since the capture is in black and white while everything is in colour.

So until next time, keep on gaming and ROCK ON!!

Gamebridge has arrived!

Hey guys, first of all I see that Glitchspot is up to its old tricks again with  the profile views since the views haven't changed in the last few days and also same goes with editing a video.  In that, you can't get associate a game, song or whatever it is because you search for the game and it stays at the Please Wait-Searching forever.

Anyway enough about that since it is a regular occurence within Gamespot but they should fix these problems a bit sooner than what has occured.  I got my Adaptec Gamebridge in the mail today, (insert cheer here).

Yes, I am happy that it has come today and tried it out to see if it was working ok and well, it is working but not for the SNES it seems.  The problem is that the video and audio are coming through but the video feed is all distorted because there is the regular video and then this whole distored video within it also if you catch my drift.  I tried configuring certain things with the software but alas, it stayed the same.  I then tried it on the N64 to see if the same problem occured and it did not, as it ran perfectly as far as what I seen.

I assume that the device is working fine and that it is only my SNES unless I can get this thing sorted out but I only tried the one game but I doubt its just that game but who knows?

Anyway, if I can get this problem sorted out, look for a Super Castlevania IV speed run video up in the next week or so then and I MIGHT do Darro's Delights today or tomorrow as a little treat to you fans.  So until then, keep on gaming and ROCK ON!!

Goodbye Amaterasu, Hello Jimmy!

[

Yes, as you can see here I have finally come around to finish one of the most heartwarming, breathtaking, beautiful, mesmermising games I had the pleasure of playing in my entire gaming history: Okami!!

Now, I know some people out there are saying, sheesh, its only a game or whatever. All I have to say is I do not care because this is a game that makes me feel proud to be a gamer and to be one of those gamers that appreciate underappreciated games like this and not overappreciated games like Gears of War (yes I like, sue me but it definitely ain't the greatest game of last year and that like some people are stating).

As you can see, I did not die once in the game like many others can say since it ain't a hard game.  That makes it my 3rd game I did not die once in on my first playthrough with Onimusha 3 and Paper Mario: TTYD being the other two.

You can rest assure that I will be playing this game in the future because it is a game that I will definitely have the pleasure of playing through again and just appreciate it once again of how beautiful the graphics are, the story, the sound, the characters and most other aspects of the game.  This game to me is similar to the way I feel about Shenmue and how I appreciate that game. I know there are people out there that appreciate games such as Shenmue and Okami and therefore, I have respect for them since they appreciate games like this the way I do.

I hate to say goodbye to Amaterasu, Issun and co in the beautiful world that they live in but as I said, I will be playing this game again and will be happy and appreciate it the same way I did when playing through it the first time.  As for now, I have another game that I must get back to and finish.  It stars a certain 15 year old schoolboy put into a boarding school and is made by Rockstar.  Yeah, its Bully.  I got to Chapter 3 and stopped playing because I got distracted with GH II, Smackdown and Gears of War and never really went back to it but that is the game I am focusing on completing now and who knows what game(s) come after that.

I will probably do a video review of this game or some sort of feature perhaps down the road so stay tuned for that.  Fellow gamers, if you appreciate games like this or like great action adventure titles, then I recommend you get this game now or as soon as possible and you might love it like I did or might not be your game.

So until then, keep on gaming and ROCK ON!!!

No Video Blog

Ok, today for the people who still watch them, I do my weekly video blog where I go through the same old stuff.

Well, the thing is since I don't really have a lot to discuss and talk about then I decided to just not have a video blog this week and I would rather have something to talk about than just sit in front of the webcam for 20 mins acting like a zombie or whatever.  I don't really have a lot to talk about in this blog as well other than I played the same two games (you should know by now what they are) and had fun, so there you go.

I will have one next week now or during the week if I get my Gamebridge and try it out.  Judging by the latest GH video by Slunks, I said I made the right choice of getting one because it looks good to me.

Ok, that's all folks!!

Darro's Delights Episode 5

[video=IHVglDH65bkKvjLY]

Hello once again, fellow GSers.  Darrogamer06 bringing you the 5th episode of Darro's Delights.

Well, what is it this week?  Well, it is the 2nd of a trilogy for the Super Nintendo and features a bunch of chimps and is made by the acclaimed Rare Studio.  It is a game known as Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest.

Once again, I provide info and gameplay and next week I will have the gamebridge hopefully so this episode will be the last one to use the webcam to record game footage in terms of the SNES, N64 and that (not the DC or Saturn since I need av cables for them first).

So enjoy and ROCK ON!!

Gamebridge!

Hey, thanks to TheWesker's (Talor) latest T-Virus, I decided to get a Adaptec Gamebridge so I can use it for upcoming episodes of Darro's Delights.  I got the standard version of it on e-bay (the one with no RF attachment slot) and it cost $22.90 (about £12).  I feel ripped off in a way since it is only $10 in the US in some places but it was the cheapest one on ebay, so I am cool.

I thought I had made a mistake when I realised I couldn't use it for the SNES and N64 but I found out that the GC AV cable can be used with both those consoles meaning I can use it for all the consoles I have except for the Saturn and Dreamcast until I get AV cables for them, which will be sometime down the road.  So, hopefully Darro's Delights will be a bit more professional in a way in the coming weeks as opposed to what they are at the moment.

Anyway, just saying thanks to Talor and let you know how everything goes in the next week or so.

Welcome to the update of my life!

Hello fellow GSers.  It is yours truly, bringing you once again what has been going on in my life.

If you read my blog on Monday, then you would know I got a import game known as Bouken Jidai Katsugeki: Goemon (whatever that means in English I do not know).  Well first of all, I played some of it last night and it is a good game anyway but the problem is, I would appreciate it a lot more if I knew what the hell was going on but since the game is entirely in Kanji (I think its called), then I won't know what the story is about.  Without the guide I got at Gamefaqs.com, I would be totally lost.  It sucks this game never got released in the US at least so I can get it there and know what is going on but alas, it wasn't to be.  Its a good game and reminds me of Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon for the N64 (which is a good thing).

It would be nice to learn Kanji in that so I know what's been said but it will take a while anyway for me to know a majority of it anyway.

Also, I said also in my last video blog, that I would finish Okami by last Sunday and that didn't come into place, as a certain recently released game for the 360, which I rented got the better of me. I said that this game was decent and that on my last blog but I like it more now when I played  co-op with Denis and just the madness of it all.  The game is still not worth purchasing in my opinion unless you want to be a total completist (getting all the orbs, maxing out your skills and doing all the races etc) but is definitely worth checking out for the co-op, which is a lot more fun to play than the single-player despite the pretty bad lag at spots.

I might feature Bouken in an upcoming episode of Darro's Delights when I finish it and if I thought it was good.  Also, just letting you guys know that episode 10 of Darro's Delights will be a special extended episode in a way in that I am going to have 2 games in that episode.  They form a series I love very much and were in my top 10 games.  Of course, it is none other than the Shenmue series.  Stay tuned for that in the upcoming weeks.

As for the Super Castlevania IV speed run, chances are that will be done next week so look out for that.  I might die a few times during it though due to stupid jumps as such but hopefully I will do well for the most part.  Also, I am thinking of doing some sort of editorial that will be about Retro Games vs Current games.

Anyway, nothing really else to talk about here so stay tuned for episode 5 of DD tomorrow with DKC 2.  So until then, keep on gaming and ROCK ON!!
