when you really think about it, Wii is a set back for the industry. they are selling subpar hardware to casuals who doesn't know any better. Then devs keep making subpar games for these casuals and before you know it the whole industry is making subpar games.

If wii wins this gen, it will be a major set back to all of us mature game players.

Fanboy.

Right....and the Playstation was a HUGE setback for the industry because it was trying to sell subpar graphics to casuals who didn't realize that PC was far superior in graphics and performance. Darn the PS! Look what it did to the industry!

If the Wii wins, it will be a huge leap forward, because the other "hardcore" companies will take a serious look at the interactive gaming that the Wii provides, instead of rehasing old concepts over and over again.

ps2 wasn't outdated when it was released
wii is outdated(far outdated) when it was released.

Nope. It's wireless. Graphics are above last-gen. Controllers on the Wii are leaps and bounds above the competition. WiiConnect24.

Sixaxis controllers? Give me a break.

few people say the PS3 is a great buy. And with the 20GB model being dropped - it closes the case entirely.

Whatever the PS3 offers won't be seen until 2 years from now - if it survives that long.

In the meantime, I suggest all the fanboys of the Wii pipe down. They are telling us the Wii is great, when all it is, is a Gamecube with a new controller.Titan_of_NYC

Technically, the XBOX was "a PS2 with a new controller", since many XBOX games were barely as good - if not worse - in graphics than the PS2.

The Wii has far more horsepower than a GC. Just look at specs. Yes, many games are "merely" GC quality in graphics, but no one is arguing against that.

Though the 360 has a huge amount of fans and support, I don't know if the 360 is roping in NEW console owners as much anymore. Yeah, current 360 owners will buy those games, but Wii console #'s will continue to go up until they slack off in Febr...er...the end of Marc...er...sometime in June.

Dark Cloud? not sure if a lot of people played that

MTBare

That game was tight.

My vote goes to star ocean: the second story. That game kicked ass, I liked it better than FF7. Then square had to join with enix and the following star ocean sucked imo.

Good call! I totally forgot Star Ocean:2nd Story.

[QUOTE="Crovax20"]You forgot Madden and Super Monkey Ball for the Wii.

Anyways, oblivion and splinter cell.. already have them for my 360. Don't like fighting games so Virtua fighter sucks.

So lets redo this list

project343

Well, I'm not much of a sports fan. Is Super Monkey Ball good? I've been meaning to rent it, but I'm not entirely sure if it's worth my time.

But you still didn't answer my post.

I've edited it with a response.

If you liked Warioware, you might like Monkey Ball. I didn't like it. Opinion.

Madden was a TON of fun, and I'm not a sports game fan, either. It's especially fun if you have someone else to play it with you. If you like X-sports games, I'd also suggest SSX:Blur. Reviewers bash it, but once you master the controls (which are surprisingly deep) it becomes a LOT of fun.

So, you base your whole opinion about stability of OSes on one article? An article that could have easily been funded by Microsoft? If you have used Windows 95 and Windows 98 and Windows ME, you would know that they were the least stable of operating systems. If you look up problems with Internet Explorer, it has the most exploits and the most security problems because it was so easily compromised.

Don't kid yourself, Microsoft's monopoly is allowing them to sit back and not fix issues. In fact, Vista is widely known to be the least innovative operating system in the industry. Microsoft spent years developing Vista, only to simply copy all the major features from the Mac OSX.

Microsoft is NOT about innovation, Microsoft is about strangle-holding the market place so there are no competitors, so that they can rake-in as much money as possible without spending money on Research and Development. In other words, Microsoft is detrimental to innovation.KageMonkey

Agreed. Anyone who saw the Apple/IBM/MS wars of the 80's and 90's knows that this is true. Microsoft might seem like your friend right now, 360 owners, but just wait and see.

Yeah, I do too. Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing, and Condemned don't deserve to be on that list. Of course, you're a lem, and I'm a sheep, so our opinions will always clash. It is the way of the universe...

Jumping to conclusions for the win! I'm a lemming/sheep/hermit, and soon to be a cow, thus I'm a manticore.

manticore FTW!

[QUOTE="Zerostatic0"]Twilight Princess is just a charming, epic adventure that you'll want to relive over and over againproject343

I hope you're kidding. I was going through Twilight Princess for a 2nd time, and all I was doing was groaning. The game is severely flawed across the board. People won't be playing the game, but they will be talking about it, talking about how it failed to live up to the franchise's standards. Everything from the pacing, to the dungeon design, to the unimaginative story, to the mediocre bosses, all of it failed to live up to past Zelda masterpieces. The only thing Nintendo did right with Twilight Princess was the directing, and storytelling. The superb storytelling gives the illusion that the story is something special, but it isn't.

Lots of Zelda fans would disagree with you, and lots of Zelda fans would agree with you. There really isn't a good comparison on the other systems (other than Final Fantasy) that you can hold up to Zelda. Zelda has a very long-running track record. Some  Zelda die-hards will say they loved TP; others will say they hated it. Zelda has a lot more to live up to than other games. Think of Halo 2. It's story sucked, let's just be honest with ourselves. Will Halo 3's story be good? Who knows?

Zelda manufacturers have had a huge legacy to live up to for the past 20 years.

The same thing with FF. Some swear by FF7, some loved FF8, some loved FFX. All of those will last for years to come, however, just like TP.
