@ronaldmcreagan: depends, some movies are just mindless fun and can be watched multiple times (think Vin Diesel or Bruce Willis movies), some movies can actually be better the 2nd time you watch it BECAUSE you know the ending (Fight Club for example) and some movies you just watched so long ago (and maybe stoned) that you forgot most of what happened.
@Barighm: same. usually the current Souls and the current Uncharted, while Souls of course can be played solo as well. my SP only games are currently Death of The Outsider and the Evil Within 2 (starting classic mode tonight!!!), while i still have to finish Rise of the Tomb Raider (it just was released at the wrong time and i never got into it, but i heard it's great).
they were always great SP games, they're just not as "loud" as the other games and they don't need to be. because most people that play them are the older generation of gamers (30+) and we tend to be well informed when a good new SP games hits the market. there were lots of fantastic SP games in the last years (bioshock infinite, tomb raider, evil within, the witcher 3, RE7, Nier, Hellblade, etc...). in my personal opinion Horizon is actually one of the lesser ones. while i had a lot of fun during my 1st playthrough it doesn't really offer any replayability, which is kind of a shame for a game that pretty.
the kids of today do not have a very long attention span, so tossing out a COD, FIFA and AC every year is just fine for them. they just want it to be flashy. and yes, i'm being a bit of an ass here.
i gotta say i haven't played a mario game since the SNES era. how did they develop? are they still made for kids like back in the day or are they targeting gamers in general? are they challenging?
the problem with games using the same button for different actions that can interfere with each other in the worst way is something devs should definitely think about more. the evil within has the same problem, where sneak attacks, stomping enemies, picking up items AND climbing all use the x-button (ps). how often has Sebastian climbed a car, when all i wanted was to pick up an iteam off the back seat, exposing himself to enemies in the process. the same goes for frantic fights EW sometimes forces you into, when you are downing several enemies with a shock bolt but instead of stomping/killing them Sebastian prioritizes picking up green gel from already dead enemies, wasting precious down time and exposing himself to attacks from other enemies.
don't even get me started on uncharted MP, where using the circle button for both rolling and taking cover can kill you so much faster than if both actions had a different key.
there are so many options already with the new controllers, apart from the obvious "hold a button and press another one", which is already so scarcely used by any games.
