@bubba_666: The one game I want free (that hasn't been so far) is Torchlight. I bought the PC version and loved it. I want to try the console version but I'm not willing to spend the extra money at this time. It's a low cost game so it shouldn't be that hard to do for a free game. I'd also really like to see Torchlight 2 come to consoles. I have it for the PC, but I rarely play PC games (even ones I really like such as T2) anymore.
@Drkr_Zen: Skywalker is obviously the last Jedi. The youngsters won't be called Jedi any more as that name is too long (for millennials). They'll just call themselves J's or something like that.
"Fils-Aime believes, as he's been saying for a while now, that Nintendo has done a better job communicating what exactly the Switch is"
Really? Nintendo had a total media black-out until I think November of last year? When they finally revealed the system all I saw was the Wii U(part)2.
I think the biggest problem with the Wii U is/was the tablet controller. Consoles have shown they will sell well between $300 and $400. As for consoles, the PS4 has the best specifications. If your system has inferior hardware, it isn't going to sell for more than the PS4. Tablet controllers add extra expense to the game system. For the most part tablet controllers don't improve the gaming experience. If you're playing on a console with a high definition TV screen the tablet controller is like choosing to play your game on yesterday's cathode-ray TVs.
So now in order to design your system to be in the $400 or less range you have to use inferior processors, graphics cards, less memory and RAM because of the expense put into making the tablet controller. All of these inferior specifications impact the gaming experience as compared to other consoles. The DS/3DS experience does not transfer to the big screen. Your eyes have to move to much and that really slows reaction times on games that require quick reflexes.
Also, if you look at the Wii, it was half the price of the 360/PS3. That appealed to families, especially with Nintendo's penchant for kid friendly games. Without the tablet controller the Switch could target that price range again and appeal to those unwilling to spend $300 to $400 for a console. The tablet controller also doesn't work well when their are multiple siblings that don't want to share the unit.
I think Nintendo learned nothing from the Wii U. I see this system as failing even more spectacularly than the Wii U.
Okay, so I do think Nintendo's idea of playing your console games on a handheld is a good idea (or actually wasn't Sony trying to do this first). However, prepackaging a handheld with a console doesn't work. The handheld needs to be a separate stand-alone product. The handheld and the console need to be able to function independently. This way if I buy the console and I like it, I'm more likely to add the handheld at some point in the future and vice versa. Buying one game that'll work on two different types of systems would be a huge selling point.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Ergo, Nintendo is the embodiment of insanity.
Fury Road was okay, but I really don't see why so many praise it as a great movie. It borrowed heavily from an earlier/better Mad Max movie titled "the Road Warrior." Heck the movie intro seemed to borrow scenes from "Beyond Thunderdome." Some of the cinematography was annoying (i.e. the choppy scenes) and the "city" was a bit unrealistic. They spent half the movie going one direction then turn around and go all the way back again...ho hum. The bit about Max having to be a drifter was a tad annoying as well. Lastly, I just thought Mel Gibson did a better job with the character than Tom Hardy.
So what's the big exclusives for the PS4 this year? Based on the list above, Persona 5 is the only title that really holds any interest to me. I've heard of Kingdom Hearts so I imagine that'll be a big game for PS4 owners though I don't understand the numbering convention. It looks like there are two games (one's a HD remake) and another is a sequel/part of a finale to the series?
As for Xbox One, Sea of Thieves and Cuphead seem interesting to me. I'm concerned about Cuphead's delays though...it probably starts of good then tails off greatly a few hours in.
So does that mean the first DLC will be released on 03/22 US and 03/24 EUR respectively? EA/Bioware can't release a game until the Day One DLC is complete/included on the disk.
So will EA/Bioware eventually release a complete edition of the game like Dragon Age Inquistion? Or are they going to pull the same crap they did with the first three Mass Effect games and never release a complete edition?
