@TenraiSenshi: Lacking much insight into the character based on his limited screen time, I see Saw as a survivor who stops at nothing to keep on living. Someone has to have a very strong desire to continue living on in his machine state. Do you really think someone of that mindset is just going to sit idly by and accept his fate? It would've made more sense based on what little we knew of Saw to see die in a shuttle attempting to escape the destruction than to sit there and attempt to wax poetic over his pending demise.

@dudinkalv: He needed to be in the movie more, precisely for that reason. As I've mentioned earlier, they needed a few scenes with him and young Erso to build sympathy for him and they needed a scene or two with him to explain why he's an outcast of the Rebel Alliance. I doubt these extra scenes would've had to add more than 5-10 minutes to an already short Star Wars film.

Also, upon reflection, I don't really understand why many rebels, such as Saw didn't try to save themselves from the coming destruction sequences. In Saw's case he had ample time to attempt an escape.

There's two trailer scenes missing that really stood out to me. The first was Krennic walking on the beach/getting his cape wet. The second was the absence of the tie fighter in the Erso scene.

Having just seen the movie, I found the story better than the Force Awakens but it's missing a Star Wars feeling (that the Force Awakens had). I don't really care about the crawl at the beginning of the movie...so that's not what's missing. I think in large part it has to be the soundtrack. Maybe Disney should've worked on that more than just reshooting so many scenes. Some music that conveyed the emotions of the important scenes could've really made this movie pop.

Also, I really think they should've added some more scenes developing Forrest Whittaker's character. He seems like he should be more connected with the story...but you know so little about him and his connection with Erso doesn't seem to have any substance to it. In particular, a scene or two with him caring for young Erso and something more about how he came to be the resistance leader he was could've greatly helped the story.

There will never be a Great movie based on a video game, until Hollywood stops making video game movies.

First, no matter the video game, the story is sub-par. Most video games have forgettable/formulaic plots that set up the gameplay. When you try to make a movie based on a video game's story, the majority of the audience will hear "blah, blah, blah."

Second there is vocal minority who will always be offended if you fail to capture the essence of the video game within a movie based upon it. Sure these people will be loyal customers, but if you make the movie for them, you won't do what makes huge sums of money from a movie that appeals to a broader audience.

Assassin's Creed really needed to be made into a period piece/mystery. The modern day events would function as a mystery/detective movie and the past events as a period piece with a focus on action. The animus gets you from modern to historical. Any other connection to the video game will hinder the story and fragment the audience. Sure you can stick in a leap of faith, but you can't base the story around that leap of faith. A coherent story would be absolutely essential for this film to work with a mainstream audience and to really make it into a mega-franchise (like Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings). Review after review hits on the fact that the story is non-sensical/hard to follow. While many fans might like the action sequences and rail against the critics...regardless the movie will be considered by the masses as a failure.

Wow, not one of these games even catches my attention. I'm so disinterested I didn't even bother to read one review or their explanations for even being on this list.

Personally, I'd rather pay $60 for a Wii U disk of the 30 games included in this package than for the mini-system. Next year this system will be available for $30-$40 just like all the Atari/Sega/Intellivision retro systems that don't move of the shelf. I was really tempted to get a retro Atari system this year, as they are now making one with Solaris on it.

However, I've been disappointed with nearly every retro game I've ever played. They just don't live up to the memory of playing those games back in the day. With all the high def make-overs from the 360/PS3 to XB1/PS4, how hard could it be to update these retro games? The games don't need 1080p/60fps graphics, just something that's a little more pleasing to the eye, that fits properly on today's HDTV screens.

Where's XCOM 2? This reviewer seems overly biased toward multiplayer online games. Also (while I haven't played it) I hear Playdead is an excellent game.

Paraphrasing the first sentence in the second paragraph to the article above "Demand has outpaced Demand." It should be "Demand has outpaced Supply." This is why Editors are needed even for online news articles.
