I would probably say Fallout 3.

It's a great game and you can spend so many hours just exploring the world.

Like you also said, it is more of an open world experience than New Vegas, IMO

Pretty excited for both, but mostly Diablo 3.

Skyrim scares me! 0.o

I've never actually completed an Elder Scrolls game, because I tend to get overwhelmed by them.

But I love the concept of them!

Sins of a Solar Empire is supposed to be rather awesome and still probably one of the newest Space RTS's

I am primarily a PC gamer and have been playing PC games since around 1992.

However I also own all 3 current gen consoles, so I happily play good games where ever I find them.

As for most people in general, I think you will find that console gamers outweigh the PC gaming population quite heavily, which is also why console game sales are much higher than PC games and why developers tend to develop for a console as the primary platform.

I would much have preferred an "Emerald Dream" expansion.

This expansion feels a bit too insignificant somehow.

I appreciate that they are not introducing any new mega bad guy to replace Illidan/Arthas/Deathwing, but it really just leaves an impression of an expansion pack without real focus in my eyes.

I'll be playing both.

I think they are different enough games that you can justify playing both of them.

Especially the multiplayer modes have a very different feel to it, with BF3 vehicles and perhaps a tad bit slower gameplay.

Not for the multiplayer.

But the game has a truly awesome singleplayer that I definitely think that you should not miss out on!

Ah yes, a console to type in commands would be cool.

Also -noclip would be good for those times when you've forgotten your house keys

I started thinking about all the game mechanics that we have these days that have become such an integrated part of gaming.

Stuff like checkpoint systems or leaderboards.

It made me think about, what game mechanics would I really like to have actually work in real life (cause I'm a bit weird like that).

This prompted me to make a post on my blog, where I picked out 5 game mechanics that I'd like to actually be able to use:

5 Video Game Mechanics That I'd Like In Real Life

Any other ideas for video game functionality that would be handy to have in real life and why?

Would love to hear other crazy ideas :)

The review for BF3 is up on Joystiq.

Seems that the campaign is really underwhelming but the multiplayer is really awesome:
