I get a kick out of threads/comments like this. Gears/Halo/Forza are all high-rated, big selling games. The Halo franchise outsells most Playstation exclusives COMBINED. Now I'll agree that more exclusives would be better but there's certainly nothing wrong with these games being among them.
Wickerman777's forum posts
I'd say they either filled their x box division with people who are way out of touch with gamers or they simply took their fan base for granted, thinking we would jump in as long as a big X was on the box... They pulled a Gen 7 Sony.
That said... I think they'll come back strong.
Sony wasn't nearly as bad as MS with the Xbone reveal.

I don't know man... as much as I'll agree that MS had waaaay too many things wrongly aligned with consumer wishes, dat $600 price announcement coupled by incredibly weak games, was like dropping an Abomb of NO and the sales reflected that.
Dont forget how much worse PSN was than XBL for like the first 5 years
Another valid point... People tend to forget just how behind Playstation gaming was at the beginning of gen 7. poor desicions and less compelling hardware. Sound familiar? That's why I say, don't count xbox out. Microsoft will be put to the test this gen just like sony last gen.
But at least Sony was smart enough to delay their box and redesign aspects of it. Originally it was suppose to be no GPU at all, Cell only. Considering how difficult Cell is to work with that would have been a freakin disaster. When MS saw that PS4 had a 50% better GPU and 8 gigs GDDR5 they should have delayed X1 to improve it. That would have given Sony a big lead early on but at least they might have eventually caught up the way PS3 eventually caught up to X360. With the box they've got now they have no chance of being the market leader.
I use to like what they were doing (Except for the extremely monetized way XBL is) but since the release of the first Kinect they haven't been the same company. Is like they went nuts and still refuse to medicate. Once I saw the specs for PS4 and X1 I knew it was gonna go down like this. Might not seem so bad right now cuz both companies are selling boxes about as fast as they can make them but once supply catches up with demand I expect PS4 to pull well ahead.
Hmm, I've had this weird glitch on this site lately where everything I post says edited even if I didn't edit it.
Once ya get up to 720p I think framerate becomes more important at that point. So if I gotta choose between 720p/60 and 1080p/30 I'd rather have the former. But 1080p/60 is nice if ya can do it. However, I think that going beyond 1080p/60 is a waste. That's plenty enough clarity. Put more on the screen rather than upping the resolution and/or framerate even more.
The Xbox One is going to be harder to code for with its architecture. This sounds like lazy developing to me. A minimalistic approach with no effort to try and maximize profits.
Mark Cerny's approach to the PS4 development is proving to be a more effective approach to design of a console. Easier to code from the get go.
Will be interesting to see how this generation plays out.
Yeah, MS screwed up the design of X1 bigtime. Devs are struggling using the ESRAM in the way MS intended and the GPU is nowhere near where it should have been.
Get a kick out of how the op titled this ... 30 fps on X1 with dips. He goes on to say that the PS4 version sometimes dips below 60 fps but then follows that up by saying the PS4 version is a solid 60 fps, lol. Just be honest and say that it's approximately 30 fps on X1 and approximately 60 fps on PS4. No need for the extra spin.
While I am surprised they're not able to do more with the X1 version than they have it doesn't surprise me at all that the PS4 version is technically better. That extra 600 tflops does make a difference.
I really could care less if a console's outlet is two prongs or 3. Power source being internal/external isn't a big deal either. What is important is the performance of the machine and MS really screwed up there.
