So let me get this straight, Sony decided NOT to reveal the PS Neo because they want PS VR to run on the weaker PS4 hardware and look like shit? Or maybe they pulled it because they weren't going to be as strong as the specs for the scorpio. I stand by what I have said all along: I wont buy another console until 2018 at the earliest. But I shit sure am going to laugh at the sudden no Show of the Neo and anyone with a brain knows its because they are going back to the board to beef it up. They were going to get played tormy. Suck Sony off all you want, they pulled it because they were ashamed I bet LOL

This analogy is as stupid as the one claiming Titanfall 2 doesn't run on Azure because of sony fault..lol

Why sony wen't back to the drawing board.? MS didn't show shit, zero, nada absolutely nothing, just empty words, and bold claims like 4k 60FPS no compromises on a 6TF GPU which every one who knows a little bit about PC knows is impossible you can't run ultra 60FPS at 4k on a 6TF GPU hell the RX480 is 5.5TF and can't do that,OC is like 6.4TF and i am sure still can't do that, hell by a test leak it is a hair under the 1070 which can't either do ultra 4k 60FPS in most games.

So MS was either bluffing,or again like they did with the infinite power of the cloud (which we all still waiting to deliver) pull a fast one on people like you.

Fact is the RX480 OC can reach more than 6TF,at 1266mhz which is stock factory,is 5.5TF,Neo GPU is that same RX480 only with lower clock speed which can be rise,so if there was a board to go to,sony could come on E3 and say Neo will be 1300mhz thanks to are new cooling system and that will put it right there with Scorpio but 1 year before scorpio release,in fact i think 6TF is to low for fall 2017,considering you can get 5.5TF on Neo just by OC.

Lol, they never said 4k 60 fps. Rather they said 4k at one time and 60 fps at another. There's a difference.

But y'know, it's funny that no matter what a company does we find a way to denigrate it. 6 tflops is an awesome spec for a console but rather than appreciate it we say "Well, can it do AAA at 4k 60 fps? No? It suxxxxxxx!!!!"

But isn't a APU a combined cpu/gpu? Its not going to be a straight up RX 480 either way.

It is a full blown 480 just like the PS4 was a full blown 7870,in this case the 480 Neo is using much like the PC one have 4 CU disable from the probably 40CU inside it,much like the 7850 was a full blown 7870 but with 2 CU disable.

Being an APU doesn't mean the GPU is cut in some form.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. 6 tflops is absolutely enough to do 4K with some games, even some AAA games. Not for a minute do I believe 4K will be the norm but the machine is capable enough to do it some of the time.

Yes i am sure it can,but not without compromises like they claim or 60FPS.

Well yeah, it definitely won't happen at 60 fps unless it's an indie side scroller or something like that. But really I don't want AAA games to be targeted at 4K. Just a waste of power imo. Target 1080p and make them really stunning 1080p games with buttery smooth framerates.

lol 4K gaming. maybe for some 2D indie titles.

Gears 4 - 1080p on 1.3 teraflops

1.3TF (Xbox one) x 4 = 5.2TF < 6TF

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. 6 tflops is absolutely enough to do 4K with some games. Not for a minute do I believe 4K will be the norm but the machine is capable enough to do it some of the time.

well that sucks. kinda bored with ps4 that runs dark souls 3 at 20fps...

I wonder will MS still show us or talk about Scorpio at E3?

If Sony ain't showing Neo I doubt MS will say anything about Scorpio. Probably be a X1 slim though.

Official information about the hardware refreshes. Might be too early to hear anything official about new Xbox though. For that reason I think the leaks might have been intentional.

If this 6 tflops thing is a reality that's really impressive for a console. Once I heard about Neo I figured MS would respond with something. But 6 tflops is more than I expected. That's a beast.

6 TFLOPS is still around Polaris 10 36 CU's TFLOPS range and NEO also has Polaris 10 36 CU based GPU i.e. a simple clock speed increase is all it takes to equal XBOv2.

I don't know, seems to me like they gotta be planning to do more than just overclocking to get that much further ahead than Neo, that there's gotta be more cores in there. Otherwise that would be a lot of heat for a console.

But anyway, is it just me or is Neo turning out to be a huge mistake for Sony? They had this thing won! They were dominating everyone and now they're the ones who have gone and hit the reset button early and provided MS with an opportunity to outdo them and it looks like MS is leaping at the chance with guns blazing. If 6 tflops from Scorpio and maybe even a better CPU vs a 4tflops Neo with the same ol CPU is true then MS is gonna be in a fantastic position to flip the script on Sony and Sony will have nobody to blame but themselves cuz they're the ones that ushered it all in.

NEO having the same ol CPU? Read http://vrworld.com/2016/05/11/amd-confirms-sony-playstation-neo-based-zen-polaris/

NEO has ZEN Lite LP not Jaguar/Puma+.

The purpose for AMD's "semi-custom" business is to leverage AMD's existing PC IP blocks at a given process node and Jaguar for FinFET process node is out-of-step from AMD's FinFET based PC IP blocks. If Sony wants Jaguar CPU IP block in FinFET, Sony will pay for transfer cost and this cost will NOT be spread across AMD's PC SKUs i.e. it just killed the main idea for having "semi-custom" to lower the cost.

Well, OK. Somebody had mentioned the Zen CPU thing to me before but didn't provide much detail so I wasn't sure if they meant it was for Neo or Scorpio or both. But still 6 tflops vs 4 tflops = damnnnnn. :)

None of those.

For starters outside of the NX, none of them are actually next gen machines, and this gen of consoles sucks so much that it's hard to really get all that excited for console gaming.

The gap between XBO and X360 is 5.5X

The gap between XBOv2 (6 TFLOPS) and XBO is 4.5X
