I guess those who are complaining about how this $150 elite controller didn't include rechargeable batteries also complained about a $500 system didn't even include a proper real headset and a longer charging wire last gen, right. Heck I guess they also complained this gen since their $400 system still didn't even include a proper real headset and a longer charging wire that cost only $5 to $10 right. Anyone got a reason for this.

I got PS4 a couple of weeks ago and when I opened it up and saw the charging cable I laughed. How in the hell am I gonna be able to play with that thing plugged in? It's worthless. So right away I had to order a usable one from Amazon. I just play PS4 with the cable in all the time cuz it runs out of juice in wireless mode so quickly that there's little point in even using the feature.

This has gotta be the dumbest complaint about Xbox out there. It taking AA batteries is a superior feature to Playstation controllers. With Xbox when your batteries go dead ya can just grab a couple more and you're right back at it. With Playstation ya gotta plug in a cord, switch controllers, or you're done. And if and when the pack built into a PS controller stops working that's it, time to chuck it in the garbage. And Playstation's battery life is shorter too. And for those saying "Derp, ya can play PS with a cord as long as you want" ya can do that with Xbox too.

I know this is an Uncharted thread but TLOU is also a remaster and by the same company so I think it's kinda relevant. Anyway, I think I'm around halfway through TLOU now and I gotta say wow, excellent game! I intended to just get a look at it and then finish the first Uncharted but it's got me too hooked and I'll end up finishing it before I go back to Uncharted. The comment I made earlier about it being too movie-like ain't really a problem anymore. There was a lot of that early in the game but it's more gameplay now. I think my only complaint now would be that it seems screwy to me that so many human enemies that shot at me have no ammo on them when I loot their corpses. Other than that oddity it's great looking, great playing, great story (There's a few cliches but hey, nothing's perfect. The story and characters are more believable than most other games), great everything. It lives up to the hype.

U:ND collection and The Last of Us remaster are the only AAA games I have for PS4 right now. I've ordered Witcher 3 but don't have it yet. Then there's a couple indie games I got because of PS+ and that's it at the moment. I've played around half of the first Uncharted and I'm guessing maybe 10-20% of The Last of Us and I'm impressed by both of them. If I wanna be nitpicky so far The Last of Us is a little more like a movie than I expected (Lots of parts where it wants me to walk slowly while listening to a conversation) and Uncharted's controls could be a little tighter but overall they're damned good games (Heck, everyone keeps telling me the first Uncharted is the dog of the bunch and I'm enjoying it so I should really like the next 2). And they seem very stable and buttery smooth and I think they look good (Like the other guy said Naughty Dog never claimed these were remakes). Then again I'm a guy that loves single player, story-driven games so these are right up my alley. No complaints here.

@cinematicgalore: When ya leave out 2 or 3 of the other titles that should have been in the box as well I guess ya can really pamper the hell out of the one.

The neverending DLC and microtransactions shit (Seriously, this crap actually makes me not buy games. Physical copies of Alien:Isolation are going for $20 at Amazon right now but I won't buy it cuz it doesn't include the 45 million pieces of DLC that have been released for it. And well, the DLC is more than the damned game! So forget that game I guess. I ain't buying just half of it and I ain't paying that much for the other half for a game so old) is bad enough but what I'm looking at is the hardware. And when it comes to hardware vs what was possible to do with hardware at the time of release ... yes, this is the worst generation of consoles ever.

I don't have a problem with remasters though so long as they're good remasters. Uncharted Collection and MCC Collection (Yeah, there is/was the multiplayer problems but even just the campaigns are worth it) are good remasters cuz there's multiple games in the packages. Gears of War and God of War 3 are cash-grab-waste-of-money remasters cuz the vast majority of what should be there isn't. Personally I'd love to see well done remasters of the Bioshock trilogy, Mass Effect trilogy and a few other things. Putting an entire series in a single package with better res and framerate is cool imo. But cherry picking just 1 or 2 out of a series and leaving a bunch of stuff out isn't anything to get excited about.

I bought the 1TB Forza XB1 a couple days ago and I've got four games installed so far. Halo:MCC, Tomb Raider Def Edit, Valiant Hearts and Forza 6. I now have only 649GB of space left after installing just four games. Keep in mind, my XB1 came with 780GB of available space out of the box. So, with game install sizes being so large, would have it been better for us if Microsoft went with a standard 2TB HDD instead of just 1TB? The price difference between 1TB and 2TB HDD is so minimal. It would have more impact on serving customers than their bottom line.

Ha, no way they were gonna do that. MS and Sony have been using hdd sizes for pricing purposes for ages now. Anytime they increase the size they add $50 or even $100 to the price despite the actual cost of the things being nearly the same. Both of these machines could have easily launched with at least 1tb drives but then how can they generate excitement later and charge $50 more if they do it too early? It's especially economically great to have a few different size options available at the same time. That way all your bases are covered. You have the smaller option for cheapskates and then where ya really make your money is with the guys that feel they must have the best one and are willing to pay much more than those extra gigs are actually worth. They might ship with 4tb by the time this generation is over, definitely 2tb at least. But at launch it was going to be as little as possible so they can keep upping them throughout the gen.

Don't know what GS will give it but I'm predicting it'll metacritic in the 80s. I'm also predicting it'll be as fun as games that average in the 90s but critics are highly unlikely to give it scores like that cuz of the been-there, done-that thing.

No, it isn't. Not with lots of games being 50 gigs. I just got a 500gb PS4 and that's gonna fill up in no time. I found out just a few days ago that PS4 doesn't support external drives like X1 does and that's a bummer. Guess it's gotta be internal with PS4 which is more of a pain and after looking around a bit it seems the biggest that can be put in there is 2tb (OK, I have found workarounds for external drives and more than 2tb but these are things ya really aren't suppose to do with it and therefor have the possibility of problems arising), which also isn't big enough. Some people may say 2tb is plenty but I'm looking at this long term. I know I'd fill up 2tb eventually unless I delete games which I don't want to do. What I also don't like about having to upgrade internally is that I lose the 500gb it came with in the process. X1's method is less sexy but at least with it I can easily hook up a 4tb drive and also have whatever internal storage it came with at the same time.

There's plenty enough RAM in it. It just needs a bit more GPU, say another 4-6 compute units, and definitely more CPU, 4 more Jaguar cores or if you're sticking to 8 they should have been more powerful ones. And I guess the memory bus might need improved to 320-384 bit to accommodate that extra power. I think they could have delivered a machine like that for $500. Some people say that's too high but I would have preferred consoles like that for $500 over the ones we have now for $400.
