I played them on the DC back when it was still a thing. I had shitloads of games for that thing, like 70 or something like that. The Playstation 2 killed it so fast that prices of the games plummeted and I cleaned up. My favorite DC memories are of playing Quake 3 online with a mouse and keyboard against hordes of players struggling with a controller that had just one analog stick. Was like shooting fish in a barrel and was hilarious. :)

Gotta be something like a 1. Certainly no higher than a 3. Seriously, I have never bitched and whined (Yeah, I admit it) about another batch of consoles even 10% as much as I have this one. Relative to what was going on with PC tech at the time this is by far the weakest generation of consoles ever.

yeah i watched E3 I dont care what about bunch of fanboy journalist say. If you think a Shenmue kickstarter and a FF7 remake thats not even exclusive mean they won E3 you really are a cow following the herd.

unlike most people I'm old enough to actually not have have colored glasses about Shenmue. It was innovative for its time being the first open world game but it was also a boring, weird game that had no mass appeal. Open world games have come a long way since Shenmue. Most people are just gaga over it because they were teenagers playing a 'real' game for the first time.

I agree that it's mostly nostalgia driving the Shenmue hype. Back in the day I couldn't get into it but I was impressed by it technically, it's scope, ambition, etc. I think that when a new one comes out a lot of people are gonna find themselves not liking it as much as they thought they would.

It's very hard for a Halo game to get a 90+ meta now. There's a been-there done-that feeling from the critics now.

All this talk about Project Cars in multiple threads, a game that nobody will remember existed a year from now.

60 fps is damned nice. There's this thing on consoles where devs are constantly overreaching for resolution and effects and can't even hit a steady 30 fps because of it. The resolution thing I can notice but often I have to be looking for it to notice. But a jump from 30 fps to 60 fps grabs your attention. You notice that shit from across the room right away. And I know that to get 60 fps on a consistent basis means gaming on a PC but there's just something about PC gaming I'm not into. There's the complication thing but really I can't even explain why I'm not into it, I'm just not. It has nothing to do with money. I could order a solid gaming PC without sweating it right this moment if I wanted to. But I don't know, gaming on PC just seems strange to me. I guess maybe it's because even though I could do it the cost involved seems silly ... and all the work I gotta do to keep shit up to date and solve little problems that arise, etc. But anyway, I've thought about buying a gaming PC a kzillion times but never do it for whatever reason.

It is animation heavy but I guess I just adjust to it. Seems fine to me. Could be better but nothing to go on a rant about. I think the silliest thing about the third one is how often he spins into his attacks. But that's goofy from a visual standpoint more than it is a gameplay problem.

Witcher's combat is fine. The rampant criticism of it makes no sense to me.

That ain't gonna happen. PS4 can't even do all games at 1080p. And there's been plenty of games on it that were in 1080p that shouldn't have been cuz the framerate proved the machine wasn't really up to the task. In a few years the gap between these underpowered machines and PCs is gonna be gargantuan and then it's really gonna be difficult to deliver 1080p. I wish devs would stop worrying about resolution so much though. 60 fps is a hell of a lot more striking than 1080p is. And if 60 fps is impossible for a given game a consistent 30 fps sure would be nice. Nobody watches films at variable framerates but for whatever reason gaming companies consider it to be acceptable.
