Its just a business move, doesnt affect us gamers directly.kevy619

Well it affects anyone who doesn't own a 360 or gaming PC as Bungie can now produde games for their console. Pretty big news I would think.

I've already tried to figure out the difference in the GS vs IGN review debate and I finally figure it out!

GS is pessimistic while IGN is optimistic.

I finally came to this conclusion after reading the review for the Wii game Dragon Blade: Flame Swords etc. whatever.

While it's a given that the game is going to suck, IGN decided to point out all the promising things to look forward to if there's ever a sequel and also took into account all the reasons why the title probably suffered. Gamespot, on the other hand, just sits and complains about how much everything sucks, even if it seems obvious or redundant.

So there you have, pessimism vs optimism.

Yeah except in the IGN review for Dragon Flame:Blade Sword they mentioned several times that $50 was too much for the game, even though it has been out for a week and costs $40. I don't trust any reviewer who makes blatant easily checkable factual errors. Of course that includes whoever reviewed Scarface on Wii for gamespot.

What are the worldwide weekly sales of the 360 though? About 200,000 maybe? So Halo sold 200,000 more 360's worldwide? Doesn't seem like that big a deal. If they maintain that sales rate from now on = impressive. A one week spike is not impressive at all, and we normally wouldn't even know about it as no-one really reports weekly sales.

The Wii is a casual magnet.

Casual customers are happy to only have a few games complement their system - WiiSports, WiiPlay, Wario Ware and Super Mario Galaxy for example, but how long before "hardcore" gamers (you know, the ones that actually purchase software on a regular basis) get put off by all the shovelware and lack of games that are WORTH playing ?

And yet the attach rate of the 360 is under 6.

Given the longer time on market along with the bigger selection of games I guess the 360 is a casual magnet also.

whats the attach rate of the wii then?

Its in the same link, just under 3. PS3 attach rate is 3 to. Basically when you look at any of the consoles attach rates are not that high. I mean add Metroid and Zelda to the list you have above and you would have 6 games (matching the 360 attach rate), and there would still be other games worth getting.

The Microsoft statement makes the rumor more likely not less. The fact that they deny making any announcement, when no-one said they announced anything, and don't just state that Bungie is not splitting from MS is deeply suspicious.

You're going to see this more often than not on the wii. It's a children's console. What did anyone expect, a "revolutionary" game experience?farrell2k

It is a port of a game available on PC and PS2, does that mean that the PC and PS2 are childrens systems.

Looks good, reminds me of all those keyboard/joystick destroying games like hypersports, combat school and track and field.

Because consoles exist to make it easier for people to play games without the hassles and cost associated with a PC. Choosing a system based on ease of use and price instead of games is tantamount to being "casual", and the majority of people on this board would rather die than be labelled a casual gamer.
