I bought a Wii because of the Wii Fit and other fitness games (so I suppose indirectly I may have bought for the wiimote), and it was less expensive than the other consoles so it was my first "this gen" console purchase once it became widely available. And it had Animal Crossing, which can never be bad. Well, except for the grass issue, but that's a whole different matter. :) Nevertheless, I do like the Wiimote and Nunchuk combination, or two wiimotes when it comes to boxing for those games that support it.

I agree with the suggestions to vary the games. I enjoy RPG's and always end up falling back on them, but sometimes I just want to play something else. I don't always want to play something "epic" with long drawn-out storylines or huge sandbox worlds. Sometimes I just want to go into a game and blow up everything in sight just because I can. Sometimes I just want to sit back and be in a peaceful environment doing things at my own pace. Sometimes I want to solve a mystery adventure. So I vary the RPG's with Sims 2 or Animal Crossing, or some sort of shooter, or one of my fitness games. There are plenty of games that do not involve killing, but it's up to you as to whether or not you would like them. Also, you may just need to take a break from games if you're burned out on them and read some books or watch some movies or take a class in something somewhere, and then come back to the games when you're more in the mood.

I don't mind the stylus when just selecting something or being able to gently tap the screen here and there, but I'm not a big fan of stylus-heavy combat and mini-game activities. My screen has gotten pretty yucked up from playing Chibi Robo and The World Ends with You. Love the games, but really dislike the stylus dependency for everything.

There's no doubt that Nintendo is still the best developers in the world....

Your signature tells a different story.

"i play other consoles therefore i can't like nintendo more than them"? *still loving his wii while playing uncharted 2 and trying to buy assassin's creed II*

I'm in agreement here. Why can't he (she?) think Nintendo is the best developer while playing different games? I love Bethesda's style of games (Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3), but I'm not playing any of their games at the moment. In fact, I'm currently playing mostly on my DSi (Orcs & Elves and The World Ends with You) and Jade Empire on the original Xbox, peppered with a bit of Modern Warfare 2 on the 360. On and off, I'm playing Animal Crossing: City Folk and various fitness games on the Wii, and nothing on my PC right now. Does this mean I've suddenly stopped loving Bethesda's games or thinking they are great just because I'm not currently playing them? Most hardcore gamers are probably going to play games on more than one system, but that doesn't mean they can't have preferences for certain developers such as Nintendo even if they're also playing other stuff. The Wii isn't a religion. We're not limited to playing stuff on just one system or giving our devotion to just one developer. :)

Unless it's a game that I've really been anticipating and I won't mind buying twice (once for the preorder and twice for the GOTY edition), I'm at the point where I'll just wait until the GOTY (or equivalent) editions where the game has been out for a long time and all of the DLC is included with the new release of the game. With few exceptions, it's mostly not worth it to me to buy games when they first come out.

While I don't think it's bad to have a backlog of games, you're losing a lot of money buying all of them as soon as they come out if you're not fully playing them. If you wait on getting some of the games while you're playing some of the games you've already bought, chances are they will drop some in price by that time and you won't be spending as much money and you will be getting more use out of your games. You'll still end up getting them too, so you wouldn't be missing out. Other than that, just enjoy your games.

Eventually the price will drop. It may not be this year or next year, and it may not even be until the next generation console comes out, but it will go down one day if you're patient enough. Also, you can take advantage of some of those buy two, get one free type deals some stores have sometimes. I also tend to buy the older games that have fallen in price unless it's one of the rare games I've been anticipating for years such as Morrowind, Oblivion, or Fallout 3. I bought collector's editions of those on preorder. These weren't Wii games as I didn't have a Wii at the time. For Wii, I bought Wii Fit because it was originally the reason I'd bought the Wii in the first place. I bought Animal Crossing after a few months because the price dropped and Amazon had a pretty good deal for the game bundled with the Wii mic. Since Animal Crossing is Nintendo, I don't think we can say that those *never* come down in price. You just have to be patient enough. With that said, I do tend to buy more games for the DSi than the Wii (and lately xbox platinum hits) because they are much less expensive and I intentionally stay behind the times for the most part. I have way too many games in the backlog to worry about having everything else right this minute.

I rarely use the term "gamer". If I stated "I am a gamer" out on the street, people would not know whether I meant video games or whether I liked to hit the casinos or play poker or do anything else related to any kind of game anywhere. Also, people who regularly play tabletop RPG's also consider themselves to be "gamers", so there's another to stir up the pot of confusion. If I'm asked, I usually just say something like, "I enjoy playing video games." I would argue that someone who does regularly play brain teaser games on the bus is still a gamer, but just a more casual gamer than the person who plays 5 hours a day. The type of games played really isn't a factor. Playing games such as brain age doesn't make a person less of a gamer than someone who plays FPS games.

Thanks for all the input everyone! It has been extremely helpful. I'm currently leaning more toward the 360 version for this one since the storyline is the same and the Wii version is missing some DLC according to one of the above posts, but I still love my Wii and will still have plenty of other great games to play on it should I ultimately decide against Reflex.

I honestly just wanted to know because I already have Modern Warfare 2 for the 360 and it is the first COD game I've played, and playing it has gotten me interested in playing other games in the series. I'd heard a lot about the Wii motion sensor, but nothing about the actual storyline, so I didn't want to end up just buying the same game as what I already have, since I tend to play mostly single-player. I don't have Modern Warfare 1 though, so maybe I'll consider getting Reflex for that one. I love both my Wii and 360 so wouldn't really know which system to troll for even if I wanted to. :)
