Todays 2k deal on steamis Borderlands GOTY for 7.50. I was just wondering if anybody else has had trouble checking out with it. For some reason my card isn't going through like normal.

GuitarPAaron

I had a problem buying Bioshock 2 today, my card came back as declined. Now this being steam and me being incredibly nervous about certain practices steam get up too I immediately got onto my credit card company and they basically said "WTF nowt wrong here with your card or account, dunno why it was declined bro"(I am paraphrasing of course) they didn't even have a record of steam asking for a payment today. Anyway just to be on the safe side I decided not to bother with Bioshock 2, I get the feeling it could be a problem with steam.

No it isn't. /threadGeneralShowzer

^ This, I don't see the PC mentioned anywhere in the ESRB rating for LA Noire. It clearly states the platforms for the game are the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Now if you are saying the PC was there then obviously it was a mistake on the ESRB's part and they have corrected it.

I wouldn't hold my breath for LA Noire to come to the PC, it is pretty clear that Rockstar no longer has any interest in producing games for the PC. So if you want to play Rockstar games you will have to invest in a console.

There is a save game creator which does a quick question and answer session allowing you to tailor a "basic save game" for importing into Dragon Age 2. You can find it here :-

There's a rumor for red dead getting a pc version in august. Don't hold breath.

6_Dead_360s

That rumour was started on the 1st April 2011, anyone think why 1st April is "special" ? Yep it was an April fool's joke. As to why there is no RDR or LA Noire on the PC well Rockstar is primarily a console developer that doesn't have the skills or abilities to produce a competent PC product. The RDR series has never graced the PC (Red Dead Revolver was never on the PC) and the developer that made RDR is not known for bringing their games to the PC.

In short if you wish to play RDR or any of Rockstar's titles then you will have to do so on a console.

correct but if im not mistaken the ps3 has amd graphic chips isnt that correct? making it more like an x1950

ionusX

No the PS3 uses an Nvidia GPU roughly about the same power as a 7800GTX. The Xbox 360 uses an ATI GPU which is roughly around the power of an X1900XT.

Either way it doesn't change the fact that the 8500gt wasn't all that good when it was released and it certainly hasn't improved with age. It is also considerably weaker than the GPU's found in the PS3/Xbox.

I say ME3 details will be sweet I really dont see any flaws in this serise but its mess up that this is the last mass effect game i think they could have done more with it. =(EORealistic

This isn't the last Mass Effect game. This is the last Mass Effect game telling the story of Shepard's battle with the Reapers. I believe Bioware have stated that they will do more with the Mass Effect universe after Shepards trilogy is over.

Why is it that having no multiplayer makes people more excited for this game (and other RPG titles such as Skyrim)? I really don't get it, because if the game is meant to be a first person experience in the first place, there shouldn't be multiplayer anyway. I'm starting to dislike the trend in game developers who openly state that having no multiplayer in a WRPG game, or the inclusion of dedicated servers in a first person multiplayer game, is now more or less "feature", when in reality it should be in the game anyway.

BLUBBBER

I can only speak for myself but the reason why I am excited that there will be no MP is because it means Bioware will concentrate exclusively on the single player experience which is why I am buying the game. There have been constant rumblings for the better part of a year that ME 3 was going to become "Call of Effect 3" or "Mass Effect Duty 3".

There is an increasing trend in the industry to make everything multiplayer no matter what the game and as a gamer that does not really like multiplayer it annoys me no end. I am glad to see Bioware resisted this trend (at least for the final chapter of Shepard's story) and you are right it shouldn't have to be announced it should be a "given" that a single player game like Mass Effect should stay a single player game. However in this day and age the software industry seems to be less concerned with what gamers actually want and more concerned with what they think will be the next COD beater.

The second best bit of the preview was this :-
they watched a video of a segment involve a krogan vehicle train with Shepard riding along, and as it goes a Reaper comes down from the sky to attack. Shepard's vehicle is destroyed, and fighting the thing is impossible on foot. Then a Thresher Maw comes out of the ground and attacks the Reaper. The Thresher gets the upper hand by coiling itself around the Reaper, then drags it underground. It gets quiet, and seems to be over, then laser fire begins erupting from the ground, and Shepard decides this is not a good place not to be.
That sounds like way way too much awesomeness for our current stage of evolution :D

It's true what they say "you save the best till last" and in that preview the best bit was :-

- No multiplayer

That is the best bit of news I have read all day. The Shepard trilogy is a single player experience like nothing else and it is great to see they didn't give into temptation and shoe horn MP in there.

Are the Mission DLC packs worth picking up? Do they add any new storyline/interactions for the current characters? Or does it mainly deal with the new ones the DLC offers?

MythPro1

It is really difficult whether to recommend the DLC at all, it depends on how much you liked Mass Effect 2 really :-

Lair of the shadow broker - probably the best DLC for ME 2 it closes up one or two loops in the story and sets Liara up for ME 3. You will probably get about 2ish hours out of it on your first run but subsequent runs can be less than an hour. There is very little interaction with your existing crew and it is more about Shepard and Liara.

Overlord - doesn't really have a huge bearing on the overall plot of Mass Effect but gives you some interesting insight into Cerberus and MAY have implications for ME 3. Again not much in the way of interaction with your existing crew, they stay pretty silent throughout the entire DLC. A pretty decent DLC but not as good as the Shadow Broker DLC you should get about 1hr 30mins out of it on your first run.

Arrival - This is definitely a DLC you will either "love or hate". In terms of story it is key to what is going to happen in the Mass Effect universe and sets everything up for the start of ME 3. The DLC is purely a solo mission so you don't interact with your existing crew at all. This DLC can probably be done in an hour first time. I personally found this DLC pretty craptastic except for the fact it is setting things up for ME 3, that is the best I can say about this DLC to be honest.
