I am afraid there isn't much in the way of mods for Mass Effect 2. The best you can get are some changes to the way the weapons handle and some re-textures of the characters that involve using texmod and this can be pretty resource intensive.

If you want to give it a go though then the first port of call is here :-

If you are interested in "re-texturing" some of your characters then you can do worse than visit this :-

I used compilation 03 for a while to get Miranda looking like this :-

As long as you don't expect much from the mods and are willing to put the time into faffing about getting them running you might get some enjoyment out of them.

Thought I would take this opportunity to say that there is new DLC coming out for Mass Effect 2. It's called Arrival and it is apparently going to have a heavy impact on the story and is meant to bridge the gap between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. So far this week Bioware has been releasing screenshots of the DLC, here are the links :-

http://masseffect.bioware.com/media/screenshots/

The first four pictures in that gallery are the new screenshots related to the Arrival DLC.

You can read more about it here :-

http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/103/index/6128586

There is no news on a release date (rumour says 29/03/2011) and no info on the price.

I don't usually create topics in here and I try my best to stay out of "piracy" discussions, but I noticed no one had posted this and I thought some might be interested. It seems Ubisoft has been at it again indulging in a bit of torrenting of their own :-

Ubisoft has been accused of downloading a torrented version of its own Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood soundtrack and then re-selling it as part of the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game on PC.Eurogamer

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-03-16-ubisoft-re-selling-torrented-music

Basically they downloaded a pirated FLAC version of the soundtrack from the ole torrents, repackaged it and converted it to MP3 and shipped it with the PC Digital Deluxe Edition. This isn't the first time that Ubisoft has been caught using warez as a "source" for materials. It is kinda funny that a company that takes such a draconian and tyrannical attitude towards DRM on the PC is not afraid to resort to piracy when it suits them :D .

I am actually surprised some are ok with this. If the guy has indeed lost access to his game then this is tantamount to theft by EA in my books, they quite literally stole the guys $50. Now obviously if you act like an idiot on a forum you should expect to be banned from that forum but to have your game rendered useless because of that !! wow this is just so unbelievably horrible and it deserves as much publicity and news as it gets.

Err.. what? I don't have the game, but... shouldn't this sort of thing be integrated into the game already!?lucfonzy

I am quite amazed that they are giving it away for free, the way Bioware behaves these days with DLC it is a shock they aren't charging 800 bw points for it :P

Let's be honest here, that seems to be Brabens "default" answer whenever some one asks him about Elite 4. I too am a gamer that grew up with Elite first on the Speccy 48k, then C64, Amiga 500 and finally the PC. I would love nothing more than an annoucement about Elite 4 itwould eclipse everything else.

But realistically I don't think we will ever see one, for some reason Braben keeps stalling, keeps making excuses and keeps being incredibly vague. I honestly do not think he is all that bothered about doing a new Elite but he doesn't want to annoy his fan base by saying that.

Wait till you get to the "adjust brightness" screen in the game, it tells me that if I cannot see the image I should adjust the brightness on my TV I have been trying but I don't know why I should be adjusting the brightness on my TV since the game is on my MONITOR

I was never a big fan of Magicka, there is nothing wrong with the game it is just I can't stand all that airy fairy dungeons and dragons stuff. I saw a link to this video earlier and dimissed it initially. I mean Magicka = more airy fairy dungeons and dragon crap. Anyway cut a long story short I was bored, watched it and loved it it looked hilarious and I am sold on Magicka Vietnam.

You have to wonder about the thought processes surrounding this release. They simply could not have picked a worse time to release Fable 3 on the PC, it is so idiotic I am left with the perverse thought that they actually WANT this game to fail on the PC. I mean does any one here actually think it makes commercial sense to release Fable 3 practically at the same time that Witcher 2 is hitting the PC ?

Ah well not my problem, it will be quite satisfying to see Witcher 2 pummel Fable 3 into the ground in every way possible.

According to Major Nelson (some bigwig on xbox apparently but I have never heard of him) we can expect Fable 3 on the PC come 17th May 2011 :-

Fable III for WindowsLaunching in the US on May 17, Fable II for Windows takes gamers back to Albion for the next installment of the beloved Fable franchise. Players can take advantage of the same great action found on the console game as well as a full 3-D functionality made possible by NVIDIA technology and a PC-exclusive hardcore mode which offers a higher level of difficulty.Major Nelson
