@Danny_KickAzz @warhawk-geeby All encased in a cheaper container. There is a reason it is cheaper. The screen isn't the be all end all either. Once you have gone beyond a certain PPI there is little consequence because the human eye will perceive little difference.

@rarson Perhaps others will enjoy having a multi function device instead of just a book / document reader? This new iPad mini will most likely compete with the Kindle DX price point in an attempt to win back book reader market share. Who knows... maybe the iPad mini may even have a e-print simulation functionality and a matt display?

@IvanKavinski I think its a direct response to market share gained by the Kindle Reader. A smaller more competitively priced iPad would make those currently opting for the basic standalone Kindle Reader reconsider and possibly upgrade to a true full function portable device. Could be a big winner for Apple in the book reader market.

@soulless4now How can you say it's overpriced? In all likelihood it will be priced to directly compete with the Kindle Reader which most people think is cheap. Obviously given an Apple device has more functionality than a Kindle it will be priced a bit higher but low enough to make current Kindle owners think about upgrading to a full function device rather than the standalone reader.

@BlazeODU Answered this above but I'll be more brief here: This is Apple's attempt to reverse the trend of the Kindle Reader stealing away the book reader market. If you are an avid book reader with a Kindle this iPad will compete better on price (vs an iPad) and size making it an attractive buy considering Apple devices have functionality simply not found on the cheap Kindle Readers. So basically its clever business strategy.

@u1tradt The difference between Apple and RIM is diversity. You can't make a logical comparison between the two companies if you understand that point. Apple are no longer a company that puts all their eggs into one basket. Once a corporation diversifies there is near limitless potential to what they may uncover or make there next launch pad for success.

@Danny_KickAzz @warhawk-geeby They run a nice OS but the phone hardware Nokia puts out is very cheap. Hold one in your hand and you'll immediately know that.

@warhawk-geeby I think the iPad mini allows Apple to compete better with the Kindle Reader on both size and price point. At the moment the kindle has cornered the book reader market because if you just want a book reader there is nothing as compact at that low price. Now that Apple is bringing out a similarly sized iPad but with all the functionality of Apple portable devices they can regain a large portion of the book reader market that the Kindle Reader took. I personally think its a clever defensive move and good competitive strategy overall. Unless you are a big book person there would be no reason to have this over any other Apple portable device.

@ValleyofDoom If it is like the Reach console sounds they will only play when you press the buttons on the console manually. Starting the console or ejecting the tray using commands from your controller doesn't activate the sounds. However the artwork on the Halo 4 console is atrocious - that would annoy me too much to even consider a purchase.

@the_real_VIP Absolutely agree. The Halo Reach console was simple and classy compared with this. This one looks like it was attacked by toddlers at a day care centre.
