A strange little game this one, I'm so glad to see it doing well though. In fact I'm surprised, I'll admit to having written it off when I saw short preview/demos earlier in the year. Always happy to be proven wrong in the best possible way.
Argue that single-player games are not viable - encounter resistance from public.
Announce and develop single-player game, as demanded by public.
Set expectations for single-player game absurdly high, so we can say "told you so!" when game sells below expectations.
Return to developing online-only, microtransaction-fuelled multiplayer games, targeted at youth and casual demographic who have no investment in games as medium due to lack of prior experience with said medium, therfore minimising backlash.
@gagula94: John Wick already feels like a videogame though, probably one of the most "gamey" movies I've seen in a long time. It's not exactly Taxi Driver is it? Something like that would be pretty much impossible to turn into a decent game.
