Is it just me, or does it seem like everyone always talks crap about CoD, yet it seems like everyone plays them? Anyway, I just want my Treasure games (guardian heroes, radiant silvergun, bangi-o).
@domiddian: "douchey main character"? Uh, you do realize you create your character in Sunset Overdrive? If your going by the pre-release videos, yeah that character was douchey, but you can be a girl or fat or whatever you want and you can change that at any time. It's still my favorite xbox exclusive. Forza is close though.
it's cool that I can play this without vr. I own every version of rez (dreamcast, ps2, xbox remaster) and have always loved the game, but I'm not getting vr right away. I going to wait and spend my money on ps pro and NX.
@sladakrobot: It became that way, but people jumped ship from Xbox because of the disastrous reveal. When people heard $500, with Kinect and no ability to sell or trade games. That's what started it. The slight graphics difference between ps4 and Xbox is just something for fanboys to complain about. The same thing could happen if Xbox does something crazy with the Scorpio--I hope they don't, I want one. We'll see how it goes down.
@braheemiii: unless your running a $1000 titan or a $600-700 1080 graphics card with 12-16 gigs of ram, you are not running games like Tomb Raider, with all settings maxed, in 4k. My point is only to say the Scorpio is not going to run most AAA games in native 4k at 60fps. And as far as 4k looking so much better than 1080. Well of course, if your face is a foot and a half from the screen. As far as big tv's, sometimes I think my 55 inch smartviera plasma 1080p looks better than my 65 inch Samsung 4k LED. The black levels make the colors look more vibrant. 4k is not a huge leap in visual fidelity.
@louixiii: the technology for 16k already exists, but forget about how insanely expensive it would be. What's the point having tech that only a mantis shrimp could notice? HDR is what makes 4k look noticeable. The average person sits nine feet away from their tv screen. You would need a stupid large screen to notice pixel density at that distance. 4k is all about marketing. I just want a smooth frame rate and more stuff on screen from these upgrades.
@airman20012001: graphics don't sell systems. It's all a popularity contest. Just like high school. 360 was where you played with your friends because Xbox live was superior. PS2 sold crazy worldwide and had the vast majority of exclusive content. The original Xbox had a huge graphical advantage over ps2, but it couldn't even put a dent in ps2 sales. Hell, Pokemon GO was more popular than any game for a month or so. Why? It's the thing everyone else was into. PS4 has a pretty substantial lead in system sales and I think it will stay that way for awhile. The Scorpio will be more expensive and I seriously doubt it or PS pro will dramatically change there sales numbers. Anything is possible, Nintendo could blow everyone's mind with the NX and take over. Doubt it, but it's possible. I'll probably get both system upgrades, but I don't think they will change the market much.
Oh yippie!! We got 1080p at 30fps, but nooooooo. Microsoft and Sony apparently would rather games be 4k at 30fps. WTF!!! I want 1080p, 60fps and how about less pop up and a farther draw distance. Maybe just more s#!t on the screen. Wow, what a concept. High end PCs chug running "native" 4k at a good frame rate. Scorpio is not going to be powerful enough to run AAA games in 4k with a good frame rate. So why force it? Marketing. 4k sounds good and it is easier to say to customers than "we can put more stuff on screen and run at a solid frame rate". It's all marketing commercialism. I'm still going to buy them though. I'm such a chump.
@drake08: The new 3ds is awesome. No, it's not as powerful as the vita, but its has 10 times as many games and the 3D on the new version actually works really well with its eye tracker. I almost never use my vita, though I turn the 3ds on at least once a week. Lots of great RPGs, if that's your thing, and adding extra memory is a lot cheaper than vita too. As far as graphics, the 3ds is actually pretty impressive--games load faster with the "new 3ds" and with 3D turned off, most games run smoother. I could go on and on. The vita is more powerful, but I was usually underwhelmed by the graphics because the games were trying to emulate ps3 games and vita games do not look as good. Most of the games I play on the vita are indie downloads that really are not pushing the system anyway. If your going to buy one, I would go 3ds. Just more to offer.
