twilightlullaby Blog

A Brief Status Update And That Kind of Thing

So. After a sort of long abscene from blogging, or so it seems to me, I'm back. Well, not really because I have a serious announcement to make. And this time, it's for real.

I can't be on GS as much, if at all. See, the thing is, life is starting to get...busy, I guess. And a bit more complicated. I don't have time for things in the real world, much less being online and just hanging out. It really sucks and to be honest, I wish it didn't have to be like this. This is starting to sound a lot like a breakup letter/email/such. But I'll still be around. Just don't expect to see me as much.

That was depressing, wasn't it?

----

On the bright side, I got mah DS back! YES. :x

Fall Photo Competition- twilight Edition

Here's the much belated blog about the way Merry-land looks in the fall! Well, where I live anyways. It's been a busy last couple of weeks and I've barely been able to breathe, sleep , or play video games, much less do anything important like chat all night or be here on GS. :P

Without further ado, I present to you:

"A View into twilight's neighborhood."

This is my backyard. Fairly boring. Trees, trees, and more trees. Tres boring. :|

A view from the front of my neighborhood! WATCH OUT FOR THE WILD UMBRELLA!!! Sorry. I had to say that...

A shot from the road. Isn't that a gorgeous shade of red? Sort of like my hair right now. Well, it's not that bright but it is red. And this one kid called me a leaf because of it. :P

Into the abyss! This is the road that leads down the bay. Lemme tell you, it's a trip to going riding down. Why? It is FULL of potholes. And no one's bothered to fill them...so...

A side view of the gate into the abyss.

Oooh. A magical grove. Like in Twilight Princess! Or Ocarina of Time.

And that's it! Any more and this blog would be far too big to peruse!

I'd love to right more about my life but right now, I'm about to collapse! Hope all of you are doing well, and if I don't say so later, happy Thanksgiving! :D

'Twas the Day After Halloween

...and all through twilightlullaby's room, not a creature was stirring.
Not even that bowl of curry that's been sitting there for over 12 hours.

Halloween is over. It's a little bit sad because I didn't much. I mean, I got a pumpkin, a ton of candy, and dressed up (for the entire week!). I just feel like I should've done something more. Last week I had a lot of testing though and wasn't really in the mood for a whole lot. :? I'm still not. Oh well. That's life. :P

Halloween

I think that "Drift" is related to one of my friends...

Last night was great though. ^-^I went trick-or-treating, even though according to half thehouses I went to I was "too old.":xOf course, not only did I collect a ton of candy, I also gotabout 50 cans to donate to our school'sfood drive. Why? Just because. It's more fun to collect food in the dark of night with a full moon overhead.:P And I dunno.Thefood pantries where I live are really running out offood.Ditto for the soup kitchen and their volunteers. It really makes me feel sort of sad when I'm eating curry and other people don't have anything to eat.I really hope they like eating beans and fruit cocktail...

So. Other than that, life's been going okay.A little stressful , what with Thanksgiving coming up (RELATIVES) and then the Christmas (:() season after that.I'malso working on a science fair project (which is required...) and I hate it somuch. I can't even pretend to muster enthusiasim, that's how bad it is.

In case I haven't told all of you already, I made a friend at school. :DWe'reboth misfits together. Or socialoutcasts,if you prefer. 'Cos...I'm not the most loved person in the entire school. :? And it's not my fault, I swear. It's not like I go out of my way to tick people off or constantly harass them. I'm just different. And, as evidenced in history, many great novels, the news, and video games, if you're different...people don't like you. Okay, so I talk about being different a lot. And that must get irritating. So...I'll stop, I guess.

Gaming. Yes. Let's talk about that now. So lately, I haven't played tons.

Tales of the Abyss- It's really sad. I've barely made any progress since the school year started. However, I did get a chance to test out a multiplayer battle the other day. It took forever to set up even with the instruction manual. And battling with two people was very fun...but I'm NEVER playing as Natalia again. NEVER. :x We ended up dying and seeing the "Game Over" screen. "And they were never heard from again..."

That's really about it. I played some Katamari last night but it doesn't count.

A Belated Halloween to All of You!

Tagg'd

That dran Aidan. :x Tagging me after I told him , "No." It's rude to ignore other people when they tag you though...so I guess I should get to it. According to what he said, I'm supposed to give out 35 facts. It's going to be long and it's going to be painful, but trust me, everyone of you will make it out alive.

1. My favorite wintery song is "Yuki no Hana."

2. Despite evidence to the contrary, Aidan is one of my best friends. It's terrible.

3. Some might call me an artist.

4. Altering clothing (as in dying or hemming or whatever) is one of my favorite things to do. When I have the time.

5. I bought the game "Romancing SaGa" because I thought it would be a love story. :P Aren't I stupid?

6. According to my friend, I am "perky" and "optimistic." That's what they all think...

7. My friends always , always, ALWAYS get me into embarassing conversations. ALWAYS. :x

8. I almost set a screen on fire the other day when lighting a match.

9. Believe it (or not), I have a black trenchcoat.

10. The only time I like the rain is on the weekends. During the school year, I'm always afraid my textbooks will get wet to and from school.

11. This year, as an assignment, I'm writing my own graphic novel. The art is terrible but I think the story isn't half bad. :P

12. Sharing my writing is a very hard thing for me to do. I get really shy about it.

13. When I first joined the site, I was really depressed.

14. I have more email accounts than any person could ever use. Probably up to 20 by now. Half of them I shut down though.

15. Using smilies to convey my emotions is something I do a lot. You know, since you can't see my face as I'm writing this.

16. I think most people would consider that odd though.

17. And I also think that people don't want to know this much about me.

18. Most people hate J-Pop. I really like it. Well, most of it. Some of it does suck.

19. I twist my hands a lot back and forth when I'm nervous. Or my hat, if I have it out.

20. The best part of a TV show is the opening credits. If they cut them out *cough*stargateuniverse*cough*, then it's no fun! Then I can't sing along with the opening song.

21. There is a VGM song named after me.

22. On that topic, there's also a video game character who has the same name as I do.

23. So earlier I said I was nervous. Usually it just happens with large groups of people.

24. For Halloween, I'm dressing up as Shiki, from The World Ends with You.

twilight's costume ^-^

25. I'm also working on making my own RPG. It's been going really slowly and I feel like I've lost my inspiration. Plus I've forgotten how to do half of it.

The other ten facts will have to wait for a later blog. I've tortured you all long enough.

Of course, that's not stopping me from writing another paragraph though. :P This week is going to be pretty busy for me. It's the end of first quarter and the teachers are all trying to cram in as many tests/projects/reports into their grades as possible. I actually have 4 big tests this week. :? So, if I sort of vanish for a while, I'm sorry. But most likely I'll still be on. ;) Sometimes.

~Lilium~

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this before, but last year, I took Latin as my langauge. Go ahead , laugh. I know it's dead. And I know , that , to most of you, it's pretty worthless. *cough*yeahright*cough* I can name a couple of fairly well known songs in the so-called "dead" language. Watch me go!

Lilium- from the anime "Elfen Lied"
First of all, I'd like to say that in no way do I endorse the anime "Elfen Lied." Sure, it might have a good story/plot/etc but from what I watched, it mostly consisted of blood , gore, and stuff that could get you into a lot of trouble in the real world. Let's put it at, "Simply Inappropriate." :? And it made me feel dirty inside after watching it. Way too much FEMALE nudity. That is not the right way to treat women, even if they are imaginary and animated. Girls need respect. Screw fan-service. :x

My ranting aside, the theme song (or opening credits song) is gorgeous. Not the actual pictures that go with the song (even though I love the artistic references, the nudity (AGAIN) is just too much. :? ) but the song. ^-^ Wow. Haunting and beautiful all mixed into one.

Lilium (it's clean, don't worry.)

One Winged Angel- from the video game "Final Fantasy VII"
You just knew this one was coming, eh? Gotta pay my respects to little ole' Sephy! This piece is slightly overrated but come on. If I'm mentioning notable Latin songs, then this is a given.

One Winged Angel (The original in-game version. You didn't think I'd give the nice orchestral version, now did you?)

Liberi Fatali- from the video game "Final Fantasy VII"
Whoa! Dude! Another FF game! Two in a row? That's LAME , twilight.
No, it's not. Liberi Fatali is a Latin song too. Even if it's from the same franchise, it counts. Too bad the game wasn't as good as the song...

Liberi Fatali (also the in-game version with the slightly awesome opening sequence)

There. You got three. Latin's not as dead as they claim, dangit! :x I could find more but...unfortunatley, there's a little something called "life" preventing me from doing that.

"Life" is also preventing me from responding to any comment placed on my blog. You all have said somethings that just have me WAITING to pop back with a smart remark. Or maybe something kind. But sadly, my time is slowly ticking away. :? For everything. Like...deadlines. Ooh. I missed one today. Now I'm in T-R-U-B-B-L-E. Nah, my teachers like me. I thinkest. It's just my clasmates, although I use the word "clas" very lightly, that cause me problems. Not all of them, just a select few. Yes, I'm looking at you FOOTBALL PLAYER who sits behind me in my English clas. :x

Hmm, there's so much more I want to say. Like, Stargate Universe is awesome! I'm actually going to watch it in about...20-15 minutes. The other way around would sound better, but you know me. Gramerare ma week poynt. Just like chicken nuggets is like my family.

Speaking of, lately I haven't had time for video games. Save one. Romancing SaGa. Man. That game is terrible. But gosh golly darn geez, does it have some pretty good tunes. Some of the time. Occasionally.

So maybe it's just one....

I like this piece way too much. It might be a little repetitive and generic to some, but...you know what? I like it. And that's all that matters.

---twilightlullaby

Of Added Interest- I know I've said this before, but if you have an MSN and want to chat with me sometime (I'm only on about...35% of the time though), the offer is open! Send me a PM and you'll be good to go. Yeah. Okay. I'll be quiet now.

Grin and Bear It

It's raining outside. Again. It's also very cold. AGAIN. Just like...uh, Thursday? Or was it Friday? I don't know anymore. :P I just know that it's cold and wet.

So. It feels like it's been a while since one of these "blogs." Lately, I've noticed a disturbing trend beginning to rise again. Tagging. At one point, I will admit, I enjoyed it. Now it's mildly irritating. I don't have random facts about myself anymore! :x I already gave out 100. How many more until the Tagging Beast is satisfied?

You can probably tell that I haven't been getting my 8.75 hours of sleep a night. Yeah. It's sort of hard to sleep when tests are flying to and fro. I really hate testing. People tell me not to worry about it. Standardized testing is easy! And very stupid! But teacher given tests are a little bit dangerous. The other day, I found out a teacher misgraded a very important test of mine. How do I know this? Uh, I compared it (the test) with a friend's (who'd gotten a MUCH better score). And...she marked my answers wrong when really...they...were...right.... My teacher is very scary. What am I supposed to say, "Oh, I'm sorry, but you screwed up while grading my test?" Even machines screw up on grading tests. :| Thinking about all of this scares me. Could I have really had a better grade instead?

BIG TEST:
HP: 99 bazillion trillion
MP: Ditto
STR: More than Superman!
AGL: Like a freakin' monkey!
Weaknesses: Teacher's Pet (pos. status effect), Study (tech), Kryptonite

On a better note, I've made some interesting friends and had some interesting times. Singing songs in the hallway after school (during a club meeting) and overhearing certain conversations come to mind. :P I also tried some cafeteria food the other day. All I have to say is that, I'm lucky to have survived.

Enough about school already! :x Time for some first impressions of video games in my collection. That I haven't played before, obviously. :P

CIMA: The Enemy
I now know why this game was a mere 4.75 (with a discount card). It is a very interesting idea. But...the NPCs are so slow! This doesn't feel like a game; it feels like work. Come on CIMA, do something to impress me already.

Tales of Twi-er, Symphonia
In order to build a better Social Link with my younger brother, I (stupidly) promised that I'd play it with him. There was one condition though. I had to beat Abyss first. Last night was not a good night for me. So, I said, "Hey. Kid. Do you want to watch the opening Symphonia video with me?" Good grief. He's like an irritating little mushroom. So we watched the video together. It was cool. And that's it. I never started the game. THAT will wait for another day.

And I almost forgot! Stargate Universe is good. :D Hopefully , in one of the episodes, I'll get to hear a Final Fantasy reference. You know, since the main guy is a gamer and all. Man, I'm just too happy about that. :P I guess it's just nice to be watching Stargate again, after all this time.

A Ward to Keep Away the Tagging Beast

Oh Tagging Beast!
I am not a Fancy Feast!
So stay the h*** away from me!
'Cos I want to be free.

(?)

The Oft Repeated Phrase

"You're a liar." "You're a racist." "You're a -insert offensive label here-."

What does all of these have in common? In some cases, they may be true. But, have you ever had a person just come out of the blue and call you a deragatory name for no reason at all whatesoever? For example, someone will call you a liar, when your personal hero is Abe Lincoln and you have a track record of honesty in trying situations. So that might've been a stretch. I'm sure all of you can get what I'm trying to say though, right? It hurts to be called those names, especially if they aren't true.

Why am I bringing all of this up, you ask? It's something I see a lot. People are oft to make judgements on someone based on their race, or gender, or even clothing style. And no, for those of you who are shaking your heads at this, it's not just in high school. It's everywhere. Church, work, and the general public. I've done it. You've probably done it. It's a universal thing. And it's just not right. I know it's something that can't be changed overnight, or probably even in the next 20 years. But the least I can do is try. And fail, again and again.

Speaking of the academics, interims came out today. You could feel the oppresive spirit in the air. The bleak, soul-sucking, darkness that is the grading system. Of course, they made you wait until the end of the day to get them. And then they were handed out, one by one by one. As they reached their destination, all hope was lost. Tears were shed. Fists were slammed. I'm glad I packed an extra Ether in my backpack today. That's all I'm going to say about that. I also found the secret of time-traveling through clas. It cost me a high-five, but I think it was worth it. The secret of making the clas go by faster is...to sleep.

So, now that I'm finished with that tangent, I would like to give a special thanks to AlmightyMax for introducing me to Dan Mangan. Addictive stuff. I'm broke musicwise, but I now own one of his songs. It reminds me just a little bit of the bluegrass I listened to when I was little. Well, the song that I have. I've also gotten an old DCFC album so I can listen to all of their songs whenever I feel, instead of Youtubing them. I cannot believe they actually recorded a song for that stupid vampire movie! That movie...that movie...it made me feel... ... I feel ashamed. The movie was named after me and it SUCKED; therefore it's giving me a bad rap! *cough*thebookwasnthalfbadthough.thefirstoneimean*cough*

twilight's Ten Second Review of "Twilight"

O0oo0h! This film is named after me! Wait a second, it's a romance? That's good, I guess. Romances are fine. Eww! That guy is ugly! And so is that guy! ...all of these guys are ugly! What good is a romance if there are no cute guys? And Bella is weird. I don't like her actress. Get out of here.
 I want the two hours of my life I wasted on this movie back.

(DISCLAIMER: This is not an official review of the movie and is therefore not meant to be taken seriously.)

Ha! And how could I possibly forget?! The new Stargate series just came out! Stargate! Stargate! In case you didn't know already, Stargate is a secret passion of mine. So is growing mushrooms, but I try not to advertise. Anyway, it's a new series and one of the main characters is a gamer! His name is Eli or something and he's super-smart. I'm jealous. I play video games. Why can't I be part of a Stargate team? See, I would make a much better main character than Eli. I'm quirky, I *sparkle*, and I could bring a dash of mystery to the show.

SGU: twilight's*STAR* Role

twilight: Hey guys, 'sup?
twilight: guys?
twilight: GUYS?!?!?
twilight: Oh hello there Ember, how's it going?
twilight: it's going good, twi.
twilight: Don't call me that. :x You're not my friend
twilight: *homerun kicks twilight*

For the longest time, I've thought that people didn't enjoy my (long) blogs. But, after seeing several of the responses on my last (short) blog, I have decided to blog as long as I want from now on! You only live twice, right? :x

Spooky, Evenness, and The Tale of the Moustache

So, we've now reached the month of October. It's really starting to get colder here in Merry-land. I actually wore a light jacket the other day! Of course, with the cold comes the season of stuffy noses. Mine is running CONSTANTLY. And the thing is, I never remember to bring tissue. So I have to beg some off the teachers or try and stuff my pockets with paper towels during lunch in the bathroom. :P The bathroom is REALLY scary but I think the people outside are worse. Tell me, WHO stands right behind the door to the girl's bathroom? This guy I hit in the head, obviously. I felt bad at first but I think he deserved it, if he was stupid enough to stand there. I also feel slightly disturbed now.

Did you know that evenness is a word? I didn't. It sounds so wrong, like some kind of word you'd make up. But no, no, no , according to Webster's Dictionary, it IS a word. I think "LOL" is a word too. That's so lame. "LOL" stands for "Laugh Out Loud." It's an acryonym. Maybe we're all just slowly degenerating...

And how could I forget, that with October, here comes Halloween! :D One of the best holidays ever to be invented by mankind, Halloween consists of getting free candy from strangers, scaring people (:D), and dressing up in costumes that'd usually get you beaten up. It sounds weird on paper but in all actuality, it's pretty great.I like it! And this year, it falls on a Saturday night. Woooooo. No school the next day. What could possibly be sweeter? You all probably want to know whether I'm going to be dressing up or not. I don't think you're ever too old to dress up. Maybe I'm just weird. I don't know. It's sort of fun. Like...cosplay! :D

This leads into one of my last points: "The Tale of the Moustache"

I really don't know how to say this. Maybe I shouldn't. Well, as they say, a picture is a thousand words...

(insert nice image HERE! :x Gamespot, why did you have to keep screwing up my picture today? )

That was me, last Wednesday, if memory serves. I had a moustache. :| And a goatee. It was pretty sexy, if I do say so myself. :P (of course, there *IS* no picture....)

So, for Halloween, I'm trying to decide whether to repeat that or think of something new.

What do you think?

---twilightlullaby

(ohmygoodness! I actually wrote a short blog for once! Are you happy, people who don't like long blogs? :P)

Fever + Turning Blue = One *Fair* Day

Ordinarily, seeing as how it's the school year and all, I wouldn't be posting more than one blog a week. This is a special occasion. I got sick. It's not a huge surprise but it's sort of made me feel mildly irritated because:

1. I hate missing school because
2. there's always a lot of make-up work and
3. I hate getting behind.

Stuff like this can't be helped , I suppose. And I can't go back tomorrow either because there's a policy (from the school nurse :x) that says you have to remain fever-free for a whopping 24 hours before going back. Whatever. I'm not ready to go back anyway.

Monday- Lost in Blue

7:00 AM- Woke up. Had a headache but took some type of painkiller (ibuprofen?) and shrugged it off.

7:58 AM- Barely made it to first period on time.

8:45 AM- Wanted to go back to sleep.

9:30 AM- Starting feeling really cold

LUNCH- Turned blue. :? Had to get a pass to the nurses' office.

Nurses Office, 1255- "Wait right here, SWEETIE. I'll be with you in a second."

15 minutes later- "Come on in and I'll give you a checkup. Oh, even though you're turning blue, have a cough that won't stop, and are shivering uncontrollably, you're okay because you don't have a fever. GO BACK TO CLAS :x"

1:34 PM- Damn you, guy who sits behind me. Why won't you leave me alone? I'm sick, okay?! And I don't like you because you're an idiot. And I won't be your partner for the group project. I don't do groups. Just leave me alone.

2:25 PM- tHe sKy Iz sO pReTTy tOdAy, iSn'T It...?

Tuesday- Under the Influence

Fever! Fever! 100 and something degrees! Give me some more drugs please!

(before you all start freaking out, I'm referring to cold medicine or whatever you take when you're sick to keep the fever down)

Wednesday- Slightly Better Feverwise...Mental Health, Out of Whack

Pros to being sick:

1. Getting to watch/catch up on lots of TV
2. Getting to "liberate" my brother's DS in order to play Chrono Trigger
3. Staying in PJs all day

Cons to being sick:

1. Crying during said TV shows
2. Losing sanity
3. Chills
4. Drinking LIQUID all the time
5. Taking drugs
6. Missing certain people
7. Having too much time to think about stuff
8. Not being able to go outside
9. Getting behind in schoolwork
10. Can't play video games due to loss of energy/balance/???

Thursday- Dawn of the Penultimate Day, 24 hours remain

(this day hasn't happened yet, silly!)

Friday- *IT*

(!!!)

---twilightlullaby

According to this little boy, bacon is good for you. I wish that was true. :P It's probably just the fever or whatever, but I think this video is freakin' hilarious. If I were in a better mind state, it wouldn't be so funny.

Bacon, According to an Elementary School Boy

*cough* I'm not sick *cough*

I told myself that this school year, I wouldn't let myself get sick. Most people would be happy to miss a day of school, but me? No freakin' way. :x I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that it isn't what it seems. I AM NOT SICK. :x If I am sick though, it's totally my fault. Don't get me wrong, it's not for lack of hygiene. I just choose not to sleep at night anymore. It's that simple.

I've learned lately that playing video games with my family...sucks. :? My brother is obsessed with winning and throws a fit when he's not player one, my sister cries over losing as well, my mom, well, she's her usual self, and my dad's cool, I guess. I've always been an anti-social gamer. And my family doesn't get games at all. Every single console game that I've beaten has some weird shadow hanging over it. FFX was the time when I had to draw out the final boss battle and outwait my brother. Shadow of the Colossus had my whole family watching intently as...a spoiler happened. :P Twilight Princess, meh, it was okay I guess. I had the rush the final battle though so my brother could watch his TV show. Fond memories, eh?

Speaking of fond memories, today is September 20th! What's important about today? Nothing much! Except *it* is coming up soon. That *thing*. :x *It* just has to come every year, doesn't *it*? Living in a small-ish town, *it* has to happen inevitabley. I just wish that I didn't have to particpate in *it*. *sigh* At least I get a day off for *it* though. Always look on the bright side of life. (?)

I promised I would finish the rest of the questions, so I'm not going to dwell on *it* any longer!

mprezzy asks:

1. How tall are you?

According to the last measurement, I'm somewhere between 5'8" and 5'9". I thinkest.

2. Would you rather have a chilly house and bundle up in flannel pants and a big sweatshirt, or have a warm house and be in a t-shirt and shorts?

A chilly house. I love the feeling of huddling against the cold. If I were in a humid house, I'd live in a bathing suit and recline in a swimming pool all day long. The cheap ones you can get from Wal-Mart.

3.If you had to choose between living on a remote island with no contact with the outside world (including internet) or living in a 10 ft. square room with 14 people for one year, which would you choose?

A remote island. I'm a loner, contrary to what I might seem like here.

Desulated asks:

1. What do you plan to do for your future?

I plan on saving the world! *tough muscles*

2. What's more important in your opinion-wealth or health?

Health. Wealth...well, just look for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

3. Is life tough?

Hell yeah! But you gotta stick through with it, 'cos there's a lot to live for. ;)

Slyfur asks:

1.What was your favorite cartoon when you were a kid?

I didn't watch cartoons a whole lot but I did like...Pokemon a lot.

2.What's the best game ever in your opinion?

My Little Pony Butt Tattoo Parlor: Aidan Edition! Rainbow rope, FTW! Actually, it'd have to be Capture the Flag. No one said it had to be for a video game console...

3.Um... Do you really jump every time the phone rings?

Not as much as before. :P

Marrium1 asks:

1.If you were to bring anyone to dinner, who would it be? (dead people too)

That's a tough question but it'd have to be my grandad. :(

2.What is the coolest, but stupidest thing you have ever done?

Uuuh, I don't know if I should tell you that... ... ...it's pretty bad. :P

3.What does your nervous laugh sound like?

It's a S-E-C-R-E-T

MistressMinako asks:

1. Do you love anime?

Yes! I adore it. I feel like I can't live without it. :P

2. Do you love steak?

It depends on how it's cooked.

3. May I have your chicken sandwich?

No, I live for Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches. Just thinking about it makes me hungry...

It's been a while since I posted a random video link, so here's one! School-themed, of course. :P

...*loss for words*
